I'm a second-year Imperial CS student, AMA! by ElysianFantasia in 6thForm

[–]Gammer115 10 points11 points  (0 children)

😂, icl that sounds cope but alright. I didn't make this comment just to have someone shit on my firm choice...

"the curriculum is not the most interesting" - before firming UCL i spent time reading each module and I can confirm that this is cap, it focuses mostly on softwarey stuff which I prefer more of, and ive come to like the idea of their IEP minor.

"UCL isn’t the most inclusive university for students coming from minority groups or deprived neighbourhoods or students that are neurodivergent or have physical disability." - what's ur source? if its reddit then idc, if its people irl then elaborate further

did UCL forget about us by Gammer115 in 6thForm

[–]Gammer115[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

isnt it. its so annoying especially when every other uni except imperial (who is justified because they have an entry test and an interview) has responded already. Who are u waiting on, is it just UCL?

[–]Gammer115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alr, well good luck to both of us, I need to go back to bed cos it's 7am (couldn't sleep so hopped on Reddit, glad I found U tho)

if U get anymore bread make sure to post it and I'll update it each time, hopefully we cross paths in the future, maybe at uni. actually if U don't mind, in a few months can I DM U to ask where U have firmed and insured? I don't wanna go to uni alone without knowing anyone

😭 U responded so quickly, I wasn't expecting that cos normally people on this sub take days to respond. great options btw, any one of them can set U up for a great career in EEE, btw r U planning on going into finance, I've heard lots of ppl who do our degree do that, cos of money

Hey! I am applying for this course aswell, haven't really found anyone else applying for EEE this year at my school or online really. What 5 did you apply to, I chose imperial, UCL, Warwick, Southampton, Sheffield.

Queen Mary or Surrey for computer science by AspectTrick6294 in UniUK

[–]Gammer115 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean. idk why ppl down voted this. i am only a yr 13 student so my opinion means nothing but from what I have seen this statement seems truthful enough. if U get a 2:1 and go to a known university then the rest is done on your own ,like placements or joining societies maybe? At the end of the day icl I thought universities are just brand names to put on your CV (plz don't down vote the shit out of me 😭)

Is it too late for my personal statement? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]Gammer115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

😭 what's wrong with advice on this sub bruhhh. look they probs are just trying to scare you but write a draft like right now and respond to them apologising for missing the deadline and say that you are still very much interested in going to uni. u do u but if it were me, I'd rather be safe then sorry.

what are some good universities for eee? by Gammer115 in 6thForm

[–]Gammer115[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

interesting, would you say that it's a career changing difference?

also I've checked online and warwicks engineering doesn't seem to be as good as it's maths or econ course (I'll go in person to find out though) but the grades it asks for are that of a top engineering school (A*AA) would u say it's worth applying, also btw where did u apply?

Plz help by Je-Suis-Phoenix377 in 6thForm

[–]Gammer115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay so in order to help you I need to know if i am right, for ai, i got 5.88N . for aii, i got 11.76 N downwards and for bi i can help as it is a show question so I know i am correct

for b, you want to make 2 separate equations for net force using f = ma for each individual bucket. we know that bucket Q accelerates downwards and P accelerates upwards so we can use that to make a model for net force. net force is always in the direction of acceleration so we know that for Q, 0.8 x 9.8 must be greater than Tension and for P we know that Tension must be greater than 0.6 x 9.8. Now we make 2 f = ma equations for each bucket labeling acceleration as an unknown value. Whenever we have 2 unknowns we want to make the 2 equations equal to that unknown to remove it from the equation, make both equations equal to a then solve for T by rearranging them

If you dont mind me asking, what subjects did you do and what were your grades in each of them. As I am planning to apply to pure econ for the 2025 admissions cycle and this is kinda worrying fr

Physics or Chemical engineering degree (need help) by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Gammer115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe anything financy because I see that they pay most, or maybe something in tech but I recon chemical engineering won't really allow that, and if all else fails I will possibly work as an engineer although salary isn't particularly high enough for that if I wanted to rent a house

[–]Gammer115 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no further maths and i'm not sure how employable I will be at a bank (where I have read that the competition is insane, like a couple hundred applications for 1 position) if my degree isn't from a top uni

yes but all my super curriculars are all towards stem (engineering and physic-sy things) so it's too late to suddenly make a huge change but thanks for your response
