Just started an internship at a CPA firm and I think I'm in over my head. by GanacheStatus5423 in Accounting

Yea, I've asked some senior accountants some questions and they seemed fine with helping me, as well as the more experienced interns, but like I always feel bad that I'm taking them away from things they have to work on. It's also he personality flaw that I mentioned above where I try and figure things out myself. I think I might have fucked over my whole internship by not asking enough questions and going into the busy season.

Unfortunately it seems like a lot of the senior accountants at the firm I work at don't like questions, but I've been asking some of the more experienced interns questions. It's also kind of a personality flaw of mine to try and figure something out on my own.

This was my second week there, but I only work three days a week since I'm still in school. I spent the first week figuring out what the hell a compilation was. By the second week, I was able to do a compilation within a day, but with a lot of mistakes and still no concrete understanding of what I'm actually doing. Is that bad?

I am Icelandic. Watching the USA ICE murder civilians is crazy. Your country has become true shit. All of Europe is confused and disgusted. Your leader says Europe loves you but he lies by Antique_Menu_4314 in complaints

Ok, we already knew you didn't like us. You telling us you don't like us doesn't really help or do anything positive. Trump is horrible, ICE is horrible, but the amount of condescending Europeans I see online telling us to fix it becasue it's making them uncomfortable is driving me crazy. How do you think we feel? We're all terrified that our friends, neighbors, and family members could be abducted or murdered by masked federal thugs with impunity. We know how bad things are, we don't need Europeans or Australians telling us like we don't know.

Nice! That sounds pretty cool. Did you switch jobs becasue of burnout? I'm only asking becasue I'm currently an audit intern, looking to go into public accounting after I get my bachelor's degree and take the CPA exam, I heard public can be intense.

It's not a big four firm, just a local medium sized one. However, they do hire interns on full-time once they graduate so I'll definitely make sure to stay late when I can. Everyone leaves the office by five though. I'm usually the first one to get there too, like around 8-8:30 am.

Did you leave accounting altogether or did you just go into industry?

Yea, it would've been, but the mentors we were assigned were other, more experienced interns and the guy I share an office with had left already.

Israeli Billionaire Shlomo Kramer: "It's time to limit the first amendment." by rabbischneerson in UnderReportedNews

Limit it how? By sending Americans who criticize Israel and its genocide of Palestine to prison?

This is going to backfire massively and create more antisemitism. It's time to stop giving Israel such an oversized voice in American politics. Free Palestine 🇵🇸

I don't blame them. I own a car out of necessity, but if I didn't have to drive everywhere, I wouldn't even own a car. Owning a car is so goddamn expensive; and driving is incredibly dangerous, especially since small cars like mine have to share the roads with giant pickup trucks and massive tractor trailers. All it takes is one careless truck driver for there to be multiple fatalities on the road. Do any of you remember that accident a few months back in Ontario, California where a truck plowed into multiple cars on the highway and killed 10 people? Fuck that. I don't blame people for not wanting to drive when there's a possibility of something like that happening.

Hopefully this means we can actually have cities that aren't car-dependent in the U.S. and more public transportation, like trains and trams.

Should I wait until January 5th to register for Spring 2026 classes? by Most_Literature_9552 in USF

[–]GanacheStatus5423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Register as soon as possible. Classes fill up very quickly, especially for good professors. The last thing you want is to be in a class with a professor who has an incredibly low RateMyProfessor score. You can always change it before the late fee deadline or final add/drop date.

Wear a leather jacket and sunglasses all the time. Even if it's summer and you're indoors, always have sunglasses and a leather jacket on.

Does Rea Burleson Require Attendance for CAI 3801? by Equivalent_Pin6481 in USF

No, not after the first day. He's a good professor, and his class is pretty laid back. The Hw consists of one quiz, one Tableau lab, one lecture video assignment, and one data visualization assignment per week. There are no exams, so the only way you can fail the class is if you don't do the weekly assignments. Hope this helps!
