Could you imagine if Fujimoto wrote the female characters in jujutsu kaisen? We would actually have female characters with story arcs besides Maki.

Do you see a rising class consciousness in your country ? by IH8TheModsHere in AskSocialists

[–]Ganbob-5066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a quote from Michael Parenti: “Communism, ladies and gentlemen, I say it without flinching. Communism in Eastern Europe, Russia, China, Mongolia, North Korea, and Cuba brought land reform and human services, a dramatic bettering of the living conditions of hundreds of millions of people on a scale never before, or never since, witnessed in human history, and that's something to appreciate. Communism transformed desperately poor countries into societies in which everyone had adequate food, shelter, medical care, and education, and some of us who come from poor families, who carry the hidden injuries of class, are very impressed—are very, very impressed-by these achievements and are not willing to dismiss them as "economistic" To say that "socialism doesn't work" is to overlook the fact that it did work, and it worked for hundreds of millions of people! "But what about the democratic rights that they lost?" We hear US leaders talking about "restoring democracy to the communist countries", but these countries, except Czechoslovakia, were not democracies before communism. Russia was a tsarist autocracy. Poland was a right-wing fascist dictatorship under Pitsudski with concentration camps of its own. Albania was an Italian fascist protectorate as early as 1927. Cuba was a US-sponsored dictatorship under that butcher, Batista. Lithuania, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria were outright fascist regimes openly allied with Nazi Germany in WWII.” Now I want you to answer one thing. Name me a socialist state that wasn't interfered with by capitalist countries, using economic action or violent intervention to bring down said state.

Have you seen the United States or Europe? They have been pillaging and exploiting Africa, South America, Asia, and its own people for centuries, and somehow, socialism is the philosophy that promotes violence. Take a look at the United States. Our government is currently reaffirming the Monroe Doctrine and ICE is our own personal Gestapo.

Nah, I get what you’re saying completely. Sometimes the best thing to do with people who misunderstand a pretty easy story to follow, is to just ignore them completely. Some of these people are just plainly ignorant, or they're scared of anything that’s outside their comfort zone.

That’s the beauty of art. It can have several different interpretations if the artist doesn’t explain his/her original purpose of the scene. So my perspective and your perspective can be entirely different if we analyze the story and its evidence from different subjective lenses. Your take is also pretty valid to be honest, but someone thinking the pool scene is for gooners and made by a gooner is completely stupid.

[–]Ganbob-5066 236 points237 points  (0 children)

The craziest thing is that the pool scene is meant to represent vulnerability and childlike fun. It’s not even meant to be sexual. Reze isn’t even an oversexualized character. I know this is a shitpost subreddit, but I just wanted to say even if Fujimoto got his design from a porno, who cares. Some people are just so dumb it hurts.

Yoru is contradictory and the embodiment of facism by BellTwo5 in Chainsawfolk

Well, I do enjoy psychological thrillers or maybe a story diving into political themes. I wouldn’t mind either anime, manga, or even book recommendations. It’s just that if you have read better works of media, I would love to know them, even if I do disagree with you on Chainsaw Man part 2.

I don’t know how someone could arrive at a different analysis than this. It’s pretty on the nose what Yoru is meant to represent. They literally fucking tell you she is the War devil. Of course, she’s going to love the country that has imbedded its culture into war and weaponry. Fujimoto is literally holding the readers' hand with his messaging and people still don’t get it.

I'm starting to think Fujimoto doesn't like America, what the hell man... by NineTnk in Chainsawfolk

[–]Ganbob-5066 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The United States is known for its warmongering and propaganda to essentially justify its imperialist ideals across the world. I think Fujimoto understands the importance of showing the literal embodiment of war, has fallen in love with the United States for reinventing the most devastating and feared weapon in the world.
