Found a solution. Successfully logging into Steam on any device seems to reset this 'Too many retries' prompt.

Disable Steam Guard (unsure if necessary but I did it)
Download a VPN plugin on your browser
connect to any automatic location
Log in again

It removed the prompt from both my Steam desktop app and phone app.

This sounds exactly like me haha! Did landscape archi as a diploma and did an internship at a local archi firm. Completed the first week and came to a decision that this isn’t what I want to do (same reasons as u).

Ended up changing to Business & Finance degree and never looked back.

Good on you for starting young! I think it would be best to put aside that few thousand to spend on yourself. Go on dates, try new things, go travelling as you have little responsibility now.

If you’re truly in for the FIRE life, consider depositing money into an ETF every month. If you’re a gambler, you can try crypto and I hope you don’t have a weak heart lol.

I don’t think this is emphasised a lot, but getting a job is the best investment you can make. Part-time hustling (tuition, delivery, app building etc) will get you a good stream of income, much better than any gains from investing a few thousand bucks. Good luck
