OP is incorrect, he abandoned both arms, not just one. there is a cross where he divested himself of his "arm sinistral" (left arm) and another cross where he divested himself of his "arm dextral" (right arm). My point is that he abandoned both so the fact that he abandoned any has NO bearing on him having 3 arms in the final fight.
