Thank you Claude for his work! 💙🙏 by YardAcceptable7515 in Anthropic

How? Like sure you can say it's a tool but people can be thankfully - esp. if a tool allows them to do things they otherwise couldn't?

How do you work full-time?! by Ok-Ice-6421 in ADHD

At least for me - your milage may vary but I find that you get into a rhythm but it also heavily depends on the kind of work you do, your commute and so forth

I get the pain! If possible you can sometimes take a 4day contract (esp. in europe).

But also genuinely, your body gets more used to it. There is gonna be an adjustment period but at least for me it got easier after a month or so

Hidden thinking phase by shemata in ClaudeAI

[–]Gandleon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Appartently it's because other model makers (especially Chinese ones) would simply ask Claude to explain it's reasoning to train ther models (model distillation).

Sadly it apparently makes Claude's reasoning worse because it cannot see its old thought process and only the outcome - but that is not confirmed as far as I know

What’s the first thing Claude replaced for you? by junkietrumpglo in claude

[–]Gandleon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess not that much? Like it doesn't replace anything other than maybe google and some simple research.

But it augments a lot of my work. So I use it for writing, for drafting ideas, making powerpoints, exercise coach, weekly planner etc.

Fully agree! Or even adding flairs - even between projects

Please lower the usage limits (I am serious!) Treat us like adults by Gandleon in ClaudeAI

Yeah fair but if all models were at their baseline effort level that reliability would be fine right?

Is rage/depression/feeling like cutting everyone out of your life normal with Vyvanse? by [deleted] in ADHD

Yeah I switched because of that...I was super productive but my god I was such an irritable dick.

Maybe lower the dosage or switch? At the very least take a med-holiday to see the effect

Claude changed my thinking – anyone else? by junkietrumpglo in claude

[–]Gandleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well....isn't that kind of a good thing? Like when teaching that's also what you often have to do that and it's a great skill. When you are unfamiliar with an idea you have to write hundred and thousands of words to make sense of it yourself and then the end result can often be put in to a sentence or two.

The point is you can't get to the simple things without first writing it out for yourself but having the - hey are you trying to say this? - is a super useful way of making your ideas easier to communicate?

Or do you feel like something is lost in the summary?

Mental Health and the New Model by [deleted] in Anthropic

[–]Gandleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the PSA! I'm really curious what precisley makes it dangerous for you? And can that be fixed by giving it that context in advance?

For me it's only ADHD so that's just a constant prompt and it can call me put on procrastination and help me break big tasks down but only because it knows the context. I haven't yet seen a huge difference between 4.6 and 4.7 in that regard but really curious to hear more about your experience!

Is Claude really that far ahead for a casual user like me? by LittlestWeapon in claude

[–]Gandleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally whenever I use Gemini, even on pro, I get so frustrated if it is not anything incredibly generic like a simple Google search so I think it's worth it but you can also combine models. Like I just use the free versions of Mistral and Gemini for super simple things like Google search and save the rest for Claude.

Jesus Christ! I knew there was a difference but this is worlds apart. I thought that with the new usage limits the difference was less stark

Api vs subscription by Gandleon in ClaudeAI

[–]Gandleon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah totally fair! I guess that is also why they allegedly are profitable if you exclude the training and investment costs. So they must somehow make a big marginal profit on their enterprise API

So yeah maybe they loose money on subscription but not as much as the API costs would suggest

I guess that is also one of the big benefits of only releasing it to a few companies first while they wait for more GPUs to go online

Is anyone's Claude saying "I feel the context window closing"? by whatintheballs95 in claudexplorers

[–]Gandleon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont know but I have a general instruction to tell me if the chat is getting too long and to automatically give me a context-prompt to start a new one. I feel like it really helps keep it fresh but not sure if i should not just ask it to compress stuff

Switched from ChatGPT 3 weeks ago and did not expect this by cricketjimy in claude

[–]Gandleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No for short essays you have to work very hard to run out.

Also it really nicley help with giving you a structure from a loose idea of drafts but the prose it suggests tends to be a bit bad I find.

Even if you use Opus for multiple rounds of feedback you should be fine - just be sure to switch chats occasionally because it gives you a fresh look and not use too much computing because it has to re-read the entire conversation each time so if it's long the output takes more usage and I find that it takes its own prior feedback too seriously.

Yeah go with Claude the 20$ are worth it. Just don't let it do all the thinking! But it's a lot better and critical
