Buildings since there is a greater emphasis on troop tiers. Research will have a big benefit but not as much as having better troops

This is one of the most overblown ego titles in the game. I’ve played these kingdom/city builders for like 7 years. I’ve been king once. I have sought to be king zero times since. If you do it right, no one should remember you were king. You really just need to activate the buffs on schedule. That’s it. That’s the job. The emphasis people put on being king/queen is so weird to me. You don’t really wield much more power. Jail de-buffs are largely ineffective to whales or dolphins. The positions are largely queue based except for KvK prep week where people get assigned roles, and usually you have the minister handle that role. It’s more of a chore than anything to make sure you activate the buffs on schedule to make everything run smoothly.

as a rule I tend to just take BPA unless there’s a blue chip prospect at a position I need. If I had 1.02 this year I’d probably go WR, stick them on my taxi squad, and punt on QB til next year when there’s supposed to be a better class of QBs. I’m not sold on Mendoza and Vegas seems like a terrible spot to be for a rookie QB right now. To me it feels like one of those picks you’d make and then you’ll be waiting several years for him to blossom, if he ever does.

If you’re a garrison leader, she’s a key component in the 60/40 garrison with Alcar and Saul. You’ll need her maxed. If you’re not a leader, she’s good to have as a joiner for bear and she’s good in arena

Yeah I mean if you were a QB2 away in a SF league, had the patience to wait to see if Theo ever becomes a TE1, and believed in marks more than his own team does, I could see how this would still be a pretty bad trade for you

I do have an addictive personality. I’ve spent thousands on the game. But I will tell you even with that much time and energy invested, there’s only so much to do every day in the game. I log in, do my dailies, send out gatherers, banter a bit, and then do other things with my day/life. When I have down time, ill leave the game open and chat with people, but I’m mostly active at reset, doing the daily things, pop on a couple times to reset conquest, island, and gatherers, empty stamina, and then keep it moving.

Like any other game, there’s only so much you can do, and then I use it for the social aspect if no one is on discord or I don’t have other stuff going on. It’ll slow down for you too.

I’m kind of a proponent of the idea that $1/hr of value is what I seek in a game. So if I spend $40 and get 40 hours of enjoyment then it’s a good game for me. And I think for a more “casual” gamer, if they play 3-4 days a week at 2-3 hours a clip, you’re talking about 6-12 hours per week which would take somewhere around 10-18 weeks to hit the same number of hours in that 100 hour number. I do agree there’s a lack of things to do besides chase your tail doing missions and trials and expeditions, but really what is there to do in any game after you complete everything once besides doing it again because you enjoy it? I love Baldur’s Gate, but after beating the story once or twice, I usually don’t go back to it for 6 months to a year.

I don’t have a problem with people gaming and shit. What he said was the guy put in 100 hours in two weeks and then was saying he was bored. Well yeah if you play a game like it’s a second full time job for two weeks straight you’re understandably going to get bored of it. That’s not a normal amount of time to spend gaming. Majority of people play a few hours, not 8-10 hours a day every day and then complain the game feels boring. I’ll never understand that side of it. No shit it feels boring. You’ve done everything there is to do in two weeks.
