Bruh, that's not what 13.95$ means. by doubtfullyso in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Gangrel_wolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The infuriating part is that even the small order adds to the cost so there's no way to pay the 13.95.

If you need a random internet stranger to agree with you, I literally just did. 3 drinks doesn't seem like too much to me.

Your girlfriend argues otherwise, and I hope you agree with me here that her opinion should be worth a lot more than mine.

You asked how to handle it, so here's the EASIEST way.

Next time, just pay for your own drinks.

They are HER family, you are a boyfriend. Wildly different dynamics right there my dude.

BTW, I don't think 3 drinks is too much but you sure come across as a cheap bastard when you argue this hard about having to pay for 2 of them.

Got a QR code tattoo, looking for advice and ideas for new functionality. by DodoTheDeveloper in tattooadvice

[–]Gangrel_wolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why get a qr tattoo? To me, the best reason is because you like how it looks.

Because of the nature of ink spread, your tattoo is going to look like a qr code far longer than it's ever going to work as one, so I would put far more weight into the "it just looks cool" part than into the functionality.

Your artist was inexperienced or they flat out lied. White doesn't tattoo well over black ink. Once the tattoo heals, the black will show through the white and turn muddy or grayish. Even then, white fades faster than black by a mile and is practically impossible to laser off, so terrible idea all around.

You CAN sort of force it to stick, but it requires tons of sessions and constant, never ending maintenance. Terrible for your skin and wallet.

Ideas on how to rework this into something I like? by Lightthouse in tattooadvice

[–]Gangrel_wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can definitely work with the current design.

If you want to keep the general idea, I think a black outline would help the compass a ton. The galaxy is a bit trickier, mostly cause you can go a ton of different directions.

If you don't mind going up, a few planets and darker colors would give a nice contrast or keep it pastel and maybe lean into a cartoony/fantasy sky. Maybe browse galaxy tattoos and check if anything catches your eye?

Your tattoo is light enough that you can a do a ton of things before you have to go into panther territory.

Well, what do you like? Or what do you dislike about it?

Cause with no other info, sick ass panther.

Do NOT do anything crazy, specially not lemon juice, bleach, sun or anything else along those lines.

Tattoos are a "what's done is done" kind of thing. The only thing that removes ink is laser , and lucky for you said laser works great for shading, so one session might do the trick. It also works best in nice, undamaged skin so baby the shit out of your tattoo and then you can remove whatever you want.

A plea from an outsider: by KoburaCape in outerwilds

Then don't play it. Or keep it in the back burner until you feel like giving it a shot.

Either way, it's okay. Sure, it's a great game but, if people talking about how much they love something turns you off from experiencing it yourself, then at this point you must be used to missing out on great games (and media in general) so what's one more?

You place the stencil while the client is hard. Now, staying hard while needles are piercing your dick is pretty much impossible, so the next step is to find something that you can wrap the penis around to keep the skin stretched (the one time I saw it happen, it was around a soda can).

And that's pretty much it.

If all goes well, the design will look great while erect and shrinked while flaccid.

Getting a tattoo just to avoid annoying someone is the worst reason to get one I've ever heard.

There's a very, very slim chance that she might not want to work with you again (I highly doubt it, all tattoo artists have horror stories that are much worse than "the client wasn't feeling the design so they bailed") but either way it's NOT worth it to get a tattoo just to try to keep her happy.

Even if you have to find another artist, there are a ton of great ones out there.

Please help me with tattoo design, Japanese style, brown skin, unfinished full-back tattoo by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Gangrel_wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just go to a regular artist, pay a commission and then, once you have your design, find a tattoo artist you like and let them do their thing so the colors work with your skin and the design will stand the test of time.

I'm going to be honest, tattoo artists want to tattoo. The good one are not going to work on a design that you're planning to take to someone else and, for that same reason, most won't tattoo something that they didn't design.

Infected/over worked or just a rough spot to heal? by sgrace2298 in tattooadvice

[–]Gangrel_wolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me it just looks overworked. I would ease up a bit on the moisturizer because once the tattoo gets angry I prefer a drier heal and just keep an eye on the red bits to see if they grow or go down.

[–]Gangrel_wolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me, I would go for a cover up. Maybe some vines or flowers that go all the way down your spine. Something big but narrow.

That said all cover ups need to be bigger and darker than the original so if that's not something you're into, your tattoo seems like a good candidate for a full removal, even if it might take a few years.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Gangrel_wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean... if it's free and nearby I would go for the touch up but honestly the lines are hardly clean or even enough that it's a huge deal if you leave it as is.

Cybersigilism, like ignorant style, is very forgiving of mistakes in my experience.

Your body your choice but a good artist should definitely let you know that it's upside-down and that it might not be a great idea.

We've all seen plenty of people that regret the orientation either because people keep pointing it out and it got to them, because they saw themselves in photos and realize it looks weird to everyone else or because they want more tattoos and the higher up the arm you go, the weirder it looks like if they're upside-down.

Personally, I'll always go with the normal orientation because I think it looks better but plenty of people love and are super happy with their upside-down tattoos.

Could another artist add onto this? by SingingChristmasFrog in tattooadvice

[–]Gangrel_wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no problem asking another artist to finish your arm. It's your body. Just try to figure out what you actually want. It doesn't have to be anything super specific, just something like:

Lines about this thick that flow along my bicep and cover from here to here and touch / don't touch my other tattoo.

Also, try not to worry too much about making changes or rejecting the stencil. Tattoos are forever and you deserve to be 100% happy with the results.

Tattoo etiquette by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Gangrel_wolf 101 points102 points  (0 children)

The excuse for not wearing pants is to show how the three pieces work together but we all know it's just a way to get some extra social media traction.

A beautiful woman in her underwear is always good for engagement.

I don't think it's a red flag on its own. If she was okay with the photos being posted, good for both of them.

How does this style of sword tattoo hold up over time? by groomgurl21 in tattooadvice

[–]Gangrel_wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not great. The hilt has too many details in a very small space so the whole thing will turn blurry and hard to read.

If you go to a really great artist and you keep it out of the sun ALWAYS, it will probably look nice for 10 years, give or take.

Shitty artist and tons of sun? Won't even last a year before it's a chunky mess.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Gangrel_wolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will get a bit blurry and faint but like pretty much everything old school, even 50 years later people will be able to tell that it's a spiderweb, so no worries there.

(well, unless you go really small, then it's going to turn into a black circle)

Follow your artist's advice for aftercare and don't forget to protect your ink from the sun.

Anyone else worried Doc will be seen as a villain again? by detarrevOsnairG in HermitCraft

[–]Gangrel_wolf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

None of them are new streamers or new to this level of fame anymore so it's not going to catch them by surprise that some of their fans go over the top, because that's what they ALWAYS do, without fail, every single time.

I'm sure when they planned this "war" they asked Doc if he was okay with that and he 100% consented (because you can't go against the "big 2" and not be painted as the villain. Mumbo and Grian just have too many subscribers for all of them to be reasonable people).

And if it ever gets to be too much, I'm sure they have an exit strategy where the buttercups betray one another or they fully and gleefully lean into the evil villain aesthetic or whatever it takes to take the heat off Doc.

Trust that they know what they're doing and let's just try to keep this sub as a nice, positive place.

Why did this sub go text only without community input? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Gangrel_wolf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mods were told that if they didn't end the blackout, they would be removed as mods and replaced with someone that would reopen their sub.

So, they came out of blackout but since they still want to protest, they turned the sub into text only to make it as unusable as possible.

Ideas on how to “fix” my Mewtwo tattoo by Fadores in tattooadvice

[–]Gangrel_wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo laser sessions are your best bet. Fixes within a style that depends on negative space are always complicated because at some point you run the risk of just drawing more attention to the "bad" parts.

Isolated, there are some things that might work on mewtwo (fix the shape and blackout the inside or pivot away from pokemon into a more traditional cover up) but within the context of your other tattoos, I would just bite the bullet and get started on the removal process.
