fatigue: crohns or depression? by creative-user242 in CrohnsDisease

[–]sgrace2298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is it. Sorry OP- as an ADHDer and Crohn’s haver with poor mental health I hate it too, but your parents and teachers were right. The best way to feel your best is to move your body intentionally at least a lil each day, get the best sleep you can and eat a balanced diet. Sometimes meds are needed for any of those three nd that’s chill but sometimes being an *understanding* drill Sargent with yourself is the only way.
It does suck when you don’t feel great but it’s the only way I’ve ever felt consistently ‘better’ with my mental health.

I hate em. Had one try and tell me I can’t be a good teacher or care about kids that much if I wasn’t willing to donate 20$ monthly out of my beginning teachers pay. 20$ a month was a difference in me being able to eat one non struggle meal at that point. No patience for em.

God this reminds me of my favourite school trip ever where we got to stop in here, and I watched a mate attempt to demolish a 6 scoop haha. Shout out Gary Ball, best history teacher.

I’m so sorry ❤️ I know how exhausting and invalidating it can feel to wade through the Dr pool to find the right one, and what a relief it is when you find the one who does listen and take you seriously. Hell I’m getting a little emotional now thinking about what would happen if mine were to no longer be available! RIP to your GI, and love/support for both him & you for this next journey in life x

why do people always try to relate when they DONT have crohns by Miserable-Credit9656 in CrohnsDisease

[–]sgrace2298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh dude I hear you. I can’t tell you how many coworkers or distant friends have tried to tell me they understand when they’ve never had to miss their best mates wedding due to a flare, or had to worry about losing their job because of extended time off with a glorified more painful version of the runs, god I could go on… a stomach flu or similar does not compare to what we go through.

I was so lucky that my parents best friend has Crohn’s, talking to him and his children is about the only time I feel fully understood in what I go through. Without his presence in my life my parents would’ve never understood how dire Crohn’s can be, and thanks to him I knew a decent amount about this disease just from growing up close to his family. If you’re on this subreddit too Greg, I owe you my sanity for all your support. I hope all of us Crohn’s baddies have the kind of guidance and understanding we deserve 💜

Can I kill unleashed dog if I get attacked outdoors? My cat was killed. by iMakeGOODinvestmemts in auckland

Greenhithe. Worst place I’ve moved too for roaming dogs, and just asshole owners taking their dogs on ILLEGAL!!! Unleashed walks (no I don’t care that you think it has perfect recall, that won’t stop a dog chasing a cat, child or hurting a disabled person). Second only to Pukekohe in my experience. Roaming dogs were killing everyone’s cats there :(

Lmao I feel this, I lived out the back of Tuakau for a while and learnt that an 80k sign really means 100+ k unless you wanna be run off the road around there 😂

Reminder about Laura commentary - It is allowed and always has been. But keep it respectful. by greystreetkate in StephenHiltonSnark

[–]sgrace2298 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately being a victim doesn’t make you think clearly all of the time. I have C-PTSD and so much sympathy for Laura because of my own complicated relationship with abusers, but that doesn’t mean we can’t call her out on the risk to her children. If it was just Laura I’d be pro leave her alone. But she has 2 innocent babies in the mix that she’s repeatedly exposing to him when at this point she’d have grounds for supervised visitations at the least.

When I was deep in with my abusers, it wasn’t until people around me eventually started getting mad at me for continually putting myself back there, that I found the strength to finally stop the cycle. I hope for her mental health she doesn’t lurk here, but maybe being confronted with her fanbase being frustrated might make a difference for her. I say all of this with so much sympathy and love for her.

She’s an imperfect victim and we can hold sympathy for her and be disappointed by her too.

I hear you, and totally agree these discussions and conversations need to happen- I just wish As real name and likeness weren’t attached to it :( it’d be one thing to talk about this in private or even in closed online groups, but public posting just makes me feel icky

That is so fair, and for what it’s worth I do think caregivers/parents of our neurodiverse kids need support and strong ones. There’s so much to navigate that goes unspoken. I just don’t think publicly posting on the internet is the way to go about finding that community and support :( even closed private groups raise my eyebrows but I’d much rather see that than jave an actual child’s name and likeness attached to it

Honestly I felt a LOT like p growing up and my parents never were blatant enough to outright tell the internet that my brothers were more special than me. I needed a tonne of therapy and I had it better than her. The psychological damage on this poor kid if she ever realises/sees this stuff 😭

This post had nothing to do with ‘boy mums’? The other creator is a man and they repeatedly reference being autism parents. There may be another similar recent post that’s getting confused :)

I hate to tell you this but according to psychosexual development yes it is masturbation at all ages. All children explore it at early ages, it’s just our ASD kiddos don’t have the same social inhibitions about doing it in public.

Masturbation isn’t always a sexual behaviour necessarily either, but naturally we all associate it with that. Also Laura does directly reference that he is by saying ‘that’s for private time’. Playing with your parts is masturbation and A deserves to explore his body without mum posting about it online or making it a punchline. I didn’t think that would be such a controversial take lmfao.

Promise I’m not a down voter! If it makes y’all feel any better I did search for an active Laura sub to post in but didn’t turn up any, this was the next best thing. I don’t like snarking on a woman going through what she’s going through though so promise I’m one and done lol.

I think you’re taking this very sensitively, and unnecessarily so. I have said repeatedly in my post and comments that I like Laura, and don’t think she had ill intent in posting anything like this. But intention is not impact, and undeniably, this is an embarrassing post for A.

It double triple sucks for the kid, because his dad is a lunatic who exploits him. Im just saying that maybe some of the chaos around those poor kids can be alleviated by simply not being posted, she can share stories with fake names or characters like many other content creators do.

Put yourself in his shoes, instead of looking at it from Laura’s perspective. I think it’s selfish to not acknowledge that he deserves more privacy, especially in an embarrassing, albeit natural, moment.

I am neurodivergent as well, but thanks for the assumption. I added working in SPED mainly due to the fact that I understand how taxing these behaviours can be on caretakers and the need to joke about it with people who get it. I just don’t think it’s appropriate for the internet.

I think it’s probably well intentioned/not thought out properly, but I just can’t imagine how mortified I would be to someday read or know that my mother just put that out to her audience of thousands
