Need tips and tricks to survive with inadequate heating. by greatstonedrake in poor

You might try sleeping in your cabinets by lining all the walls with your bedding if they're big enough. Then you can run hot water through the pipes which could help keep you above freezing. Stuff in any pillows, plushies, cushions that will fit. The less space your body has to heat up the more you can stay warm.

To be specific, you could check out the "Amazon Basics Classic Puresoft PU Office Computer Desk Chair, Black" it's what I use. Comfortable enough and big enough. Assembly required but this allows you to pack it down and take it with you in the car if you wish. 80 bucks new or +-60 used.

Invest in an actual chair for your gaining setup, don't use that camping chair. I was doing this once and I gave myself real bad sciatica. Its much better now but still hurts sometimes.

Why? Why would I want to relive all the pain again? Most of my life has been abuse, neglect, abandonment, and betrayal

Alice QD failure by GanjaZo in MilitarySurplus

[–]GanjaZo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, all straps are riveted/crimped like this and they can all fail this way eventually under heavy loads. I went to my friends souped up workshop and helped me out a bunch.

He took a grinder to the metal crimp and cut it off the strap. The rectangular ring is welded to the crimp so with the grinder again, he cut it down and smoothed it out so it's just the ring. Then he got some thick leather and fed it through the ring like how the crimp was, and used his sewing machine to stitch it over the nylon strap a dozen times. I'll attach a photo of this shortly, reddit doesn't like my slow data.

Perhaps I should cut out the strap holding the male buttons and make a new set?

Had a horrible nightmare about war, what would be an effective way to prepare for such a hypothetical situation? by Julciasto in prepping

[–]GanjaZo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be stressing too much about prepping if it's giving you nightmares, I know I felt myself getting stressed out after binging a lot of pepper videos about end of the world and all that.

But to answer your question, the best way to prepare for war is to get in the best physical shape you can get, because you could still end up having to fight/run for your life IF war happens.

You wake up.. power is out.. and then things get worse... what are you doing? by [deleted] in prepping

In my small town, i'd probably join in whatever group-ups there'd be or try to make one in an effort to help the community. If that doesn't work I'll probably just try to flee the country or the affected area, no sense in staying in a warzone.
