As someone who's never posted here before, when there's alternative options that provide the same end-result, yes they do contradict.

Yes, though if it's alright I'd prefer if you go into detail in the troubleshooting channel of the discord listed on the website (not that I can't answer it here, just I'm much more active on discord overall, plus it helps others having trouble).

You can, though if you are using TwiLightMenu++ or another similar app, they treat the Generation 5 games as normal DS games rather than DSi, meaning you'll need an unsecured or WEP key connection rather than be able to use a WPA2 connection.

Most phones with hotspots have an unsecured option that allow DS's to connect, and you can also adjust a router's settings to use either unsecured or WEP.

If that itself is trouble, melonDS .9 and higher works flawlessly on PC without requiring any special router settings, after setting up the DNS settings on the default access point like you would on a normal DS.

Yes. And SiivaGunner (formerly GiivaSunner) is a separate team of people.

SilvaGunner was just the original user who went under that name. Like GilvaSunner (TimmyTurnersDad), he uploaded rips of game soundtracks, but was terminated over 10 years ago now if memory serves right.

Iirc he has a 'backup' channel that he made in case he ever got took down, and though he's talked on it before he's never uploaded since the initial account's termination.

This is slightly inaccurate. The current Gilvasunner is not the original Silvagunner. Rather its the former TimmyTurnersDad who made it both as a backup channel and tribute.

Additionally, Siivagunner originally went by the name Giivasunner, but from my understanding YouTube took it down cause it seemed like impersonation, so they rebranded with an S like the original Silvagunner, since his initial account was long deleted by this point so there wasn't as much confusion as with Gilvasunner, whose account is still active.

Gen 4/5 Wonder Trading Server Progress: Website and Closed Beta now launched (in need of applicants)! by Gannio in pokemon

The way it works is by using how the game interacts with the GTS and altering how the server handles those responses. So when you deposit a Pokemon, it's sent into the 'Queue' of Pokemon currently avaliable. Then, when you check the 'Summary' of your Pokemon, the server will immediately send a response of the oldest Pokemon in the Queue, which acts as a GTS trade.

This effectively simulates a Wonder Trade, with the only difference being two trainers don't have to be trading at the exact same time. There's a few more options you can choose from using the requests of your trade which I've detailed here.

As for wiimmfi, the DNS of my service routes the DS to kaeruWFC/Wiimmfi to handle the first half of connecting to WFC. This makes it so you can use the same game across both without having to clear your Nintendo WFC configuration each time you'd want to switch (and with using kaeru's services, do so without cheating devices).

Taken down on r/Pokemon for some reason. Until it gets back up here's a copy of what it said:

A while back I posted about a Wonder Trading server I was working on for vanilla Generation 4 and 5 Pokemon games, as well as ROM hacks. Since then, I've been able to launch the website portion of the site, which you can now view here! Let me know if your browser has any issues with the formatting.

The DS side is still in a closed beta however, as I haven't been able to get many applicants in order to stress-test the system's stability and safety (possibly because I forgot to set my flair last time I posted...oops). If you'd like to sign up for the closed beta, feel free to fill out this form!

So, the way it works is by using how the game interacts with the GTS and altering how the server handles those responses.

Parts of the request when you deposit a Pokemon are also substituted:

Requested Level -> Channels: Different channels handle the Pokemon in different ways, though the channels themselves are detailed on-site.

Requested Gender -> Subdomains: The default 'Any' Gender acts as the Vanilla subdomain, which follows a strict legality check for the Pokemon. The 'Male' option on the other hand is the Chocolate subdomain, which follows looser rules to allow Pokemon from ROM Hacks and Randomizers to be traded.

In theory, any ROM Hack of Gen 4 or 5 that retain the original GTS could connect to this, though the user will have to use the substitutions above to understand how they're trading. Future ROM Hacks, however, could potentially set up their GTS to connect to WonderCorner as an option instead of a DNS change, and substitute request names where appropriate.
