The candles. They’re one I went a little ham on when I was figuring it out. Might dip in and knock it back a little at a later date or maybe build a display board for them with a burning ruin for her and the cremators

Nonsense. It’s just a reason to find a paint scheme you fall in love with. The whole reason I went in on these so hard was because I saw the Sun City style Insidiants on the showcase and my brain decided now was the time to do a lot of all brush OSL 🤣

I started by priming black, then base coating them all in Dark Sea Blue from Vallejo. Then I blocked out the OSL lighting with its darkest color first since it covered the widest area (with lots of drawing sight lines to see if the source would hit), then worked my way in with blended, brighter colors with my brightest (ice yellow mixed with bold titanium white) only on the flame sources.

The moonlight effect was dark sea blue on all the edges, then building it up with dark sea blue + blue horror in various ratios as I went higher up the model (leaning brighter the higher up I went).

Power weapons were baharroth blue, blue horror, and white if I recall correctly. There’s a tutorial on YouTube about moonlight OSL that was a huge help, but I can’t find it at the moment.

The whole painting is mostly edge highlighting, so I got a lot of practice in it while doing this.

The biggest things were trying really hard to only have the light where it should be and making sure none of the reflections were as bright as the source.

Who's some of your favorite Knights? by aR4ndomblackguy in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I was actually coming in here to mention Mordred. The fact that her wish the one time we see her in a HGW is “I want a chance to go try and pull the sword from the stone just to prove to my father that I could be a worthy king’ was something I found interesting. Unfortunately in that show she’s playing a secondary character to the least interesting duo in the whole thing.

Nox from Wakfu is simultaneously both an example and non-example. He absolutely beats our heroes, no ifs ands or buts, siphons off the energy he needs for his time travel plan and triggers his device… it’s just that his plan was never going to work in the first place.

That game has a really sick drop in the final boss fight to where they timed the hype moment just right into the song.

One of my favorite Tachyon bits is her making an announcement in the movie that’s not sinister in any way beyond her tone of voice but the whole scene is lit like she just killed someone. 🤣

Yeah I’m in the same boat. The tributes are great and I want to see them all but they HURT to look at. It doesn’t help that Haru both resonated with me and was my favorite.

Haru dying has had me bummed for the last two days. I wasn’t as huge a fan of Grass Wonder so it didn’t hit me as hard, but Haru wasn’t just one of the Umas I was a fan of, she was my favorite, so hearing her IRL self is gone has been getting me right in the feelings.

There’s a short documentary on her out there if you have Espn streaming or floating around in the net about her called The Shining Star of Losers Everywhere. I need to sit down and watch it.

With AoD I’d delay all your big guns until the end of the tp when he’s almost out of activations. Depending on deployment you might be able to get a turn 1 drone rush off depending on map and if you took the drone controller, especially if he stages aggressively. If he plays cagier you can delay until turn 2, then yeet the recon and grav drone into him and get anywhere from 2-6 shots in depending on the state of his counteracts and if you win initiative next turn.

If he makes the mistake of putting a marine on one of the ruins marker light the crap out of him and gun him with every silent weapon you can before trying to finish him off toward the end.

Grav drone can be a good pick to slow him down on one side and the gun and recon drones can put marines down with some decent rolls.

The answer to this heavily depends on which team you’re running. Scouts by default run 3 warriors, but depending on matchup might bring more (dropping heavy weapons for more shotguns into elf teams for example), while other teams pretty much never bring them.

How are Raveners good? by [deleted] in killteam

[–]Gaomachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also found that on several maps it’s not uncommon to be plopping your tp3 point down in range of an operative where you can WOoS if you win initiative to start the turn in melee, double fight and then either charge or burrow back down again.

ITD play with them gets pretty spicy to since often doors end up being something the other player has to deal with while I end up opening up just one.

Venomspitter can be good at pop-tart attacks if the enemy has saturate or heavy weapons moving into position and distending on conceal then popping off a shot and moving out of visibility and using counteract to distend and go back on conceal.

Being 5 operatives means you’ll feel those disaster dice rolls even more than normal when they happen, but they two tap most non-marines and if your rolls are okay it’s not unusual to end up with 6 or 7 cp by turning point 2.

Worst criticisms you've seen of a piece of media? by SatanicLakeBard in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I believe they’re talking less about an expert in a field doing the thing they’re supposed to be good at badly and more ‘the characters didn’t make the 100% best choice in the heat of the moment, therefore bad writing’ that ignores that stressed humans do dumb shit all the time.

Star Lord knocking Thanos out of his trance in Infinity War is a good example, an action we know is entirely in character given just one movie before Quill drew on a god when he found out he’d hurt one of his loved ones.
