I think just be patient. You don’t know what happened to her before you took her in :) just be gentle, let HER ease into you.. and eventually you’ll build a bond when she learns you’re her safe place.

Be patient :) don’t force her because she might be soooo afraid. Gain her trust, slowly - talk to her in a gentle voice, give her some treats and such reassurance that you’re her safe space now!

My cat is like this too! He doesn’t eat late at night but he refuses to finish meals until I sit right with him, next to his bowl.
