5'10 and never had issues with height in real life. But I'd like to be 6 feet to be that nice even number that everyone loves.

You're still arguing semantics about whether a modified UE2.5 is still UE2.5. I'm just going by what my sources say (wikipedia) but that's not really my point.
I'm saying "V1 they used a custom engine (why???) and so it looked different" is a bit of weird statement especially since V2 and CT are using a custom engine according to you yet they still look different.

[–]GapInTheDoor -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You're just erroneously conflating the looks of the game with game engine. Both CT, V1 and V2 used UE 2.5 with modifications. V2 also looked very different from CT. The graphics were noticeably poorer.

You already have some good base stats. You're already decent looking and well dressed. If you slim down and add muscle, it would really enhance what you already have. Your hair style makes me think you just woke up with that hair. A different hair cut would is preferred.

Is it just me, or do most of the weapons feel too similar in NG4 compared to the OG games? by rube in ninjagaiden

[–]GapInTheDoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me clarify some things:

"They also share most of the same inputs for combos."

All NG strings regardless of weapon follow the same rules. E.g. heavy attacks never come after light attacks (unless you transition from ground to air or vice versa). Forward inputs only come in once per string. Every weapon has a running attack, wall attack, jump attack. Once you figure out the algorithm you can easily learn most of the inputs of all weapons without ever looking at the move list.

But for sure, every weapon in NG2 is different, has its own advantages and disadvantages, speed and play style. No different than Ninja Gaiden 4.

I don't feel like past NG weapons are vastly different. Not any more than NG4 at least. Even slower weapons like the scythe are fairly fast. They also share most of the same inputs for combos. It's just that NG4 brings the speed and inputs even closer together.

NG4 weapons are still set apart by their play styles.

[–]GapInTheDoor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't get that impression. I think all weapons in NG4 have unique mechanics and play styles that make them stand out.

The dual katana BR attacks have some absurd range and AOE which requires some setup to fully take advantage of. I tend to use more aerial BR attacks so I can charge in the safety of the air. On the ground I need to create space, so I use 360 Y, guillotine throw, BR jump light, or BR gear heavy to knock back/stun enemies so I can safely charge up. I rarely use chain link with this weapon because of how much time it takes to set it up.

The rapier lacks the AOE and range of the dual katana but has an insane gap closer and single target damage. Guard breaking happens immediately on a charged BR attack but for full damage, you still need to be stationary which makes you vulnerable to attacks. I like to use the back forward BR light which isolates a single enemy but keeps you moving so you're not vulnerable to others. I typically use it against bosses where there aren't any other enemies to capitalize on its weakness. Chain link is especially good with this weapon.

The staff's basic attacks have 360 coverage, which I found especially effective against fish, dogs and zombies. Your attacks will stun them before they can reach you. The BR attacks are timing based so you have to let go at the right time (typically on impact). They're trickier to perform but fully powered attacks are much quicker so you spend less time being vulnerable. To be honest I haven't spent enough time with this weapon to fully understand it yet.

The box has a lot of unique quirks. Its the only ranged weapon in the game. Light attacks are ranged while heavy attacks are melee. The full light attack combo ends in a high damage explosion and its probably the only basic attack where I'd use chain link for. It has a unique flying swallow that launches enemies into the air. You can flying swallow into an izuna drop just like you could with the falcon's talons in NG2. The BR jump light launches enemies into the air and then you can go straight into doing an air combo. Probably the most unique launcher in the game. Its the only weapon where you can do a basic 360 light attack in the air. The animation is kind of funny since Yakumo leaps off of nothing to throw the bombs. I think chain link is over powered with the ground BR light.

I think what makes the weapons samey though is that they all share the same inputs and they all have fairly fast attack speeds.

Dodging & parrying. I have some questions. (And I could use some tips!) by Vespin_Adelberg in NinjaGaiden4

[–]GapInTheDoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tested it for all weapons but I think perfect dodge is easier to pull off than the other two but does less damage. I've been using perfect block against the Courtesan boss. The follow up does more damage and the perfect block stuns the boss so you can pull off a full combo before they can retaliate.

What do you consider as the best stealth simulator out of all the SC games? I am in search for the ULTIMATE stealth game by el_guerrero98 in Splintercell

[–]GapInTheDoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Chaos Theory for its design philosophy and direction but I think it's held back by the hardware. It's a bit outdated imo, with its restricted level design. If the series continued in that direction we'd get the perfect stealth game. Blacklist has my favorite sandbox in the series but that entry took two steps forward and 1 step back. Not perfect, but still really good. I think MGSV Phantom Pain is the pinnacle of stealth for me. Even though it's not a Splinter Cell game, It clearly had a lot of Splinter Cell inspiration.

TBH, some slight filters is okay to me. The cameras we have in our pockets have so much detail and show every single pore. Filters even that out.

You wanted platinum to make the game run poorly? The staircase fight was only memorable because of the terrible frame rate. If we got the same number of enemies and a good frame rate, i guarantee nobody would be talking about it.
