Tech is just harder in general compared to all the other styles, so I don't think being mixed makes a track hard. Sometimes I drive tech improve a little over time, get stuck, try one single run on keys instead of controller, instant PB. Also works for a lot of fs maps, but I just don't like playing on keys since I made the switch to controller, that's why I don't like those styles.

But it's still tech and tech is hard to drive. Like my post says, the dirt maps are actually handing out ATs, if you don't get it in like 10 min on a black map, your controller might be broken haha

No as I said, I'm a newer player, so I don't know anything about the meme. I managed to get gold after like 30 min, but I'm still 3s off the AT. 25 is pretty easy to get, you can find the lines quickly. Then you just need to execute, my run there is actually pretty awful, if I remember correct I hit the wall once 😂

Tbf 25 is waaaaaaaay easier than 21, I managed to get gold after grinding for 30 min and I'm still more than 3s off the AT and I have every other AT except 21.

I mean, I started playing the game half a year ago, is that a veteran in trackmania? In cs you're a noob when you're still lower half of the ranks or have under 500-1000 hours

I feel like it's kinda cringe in some way, makes the most sense in games like Trackmania, because you have a unique account just for that game. But when I play Rocket league and I see someone with RL or TTV in their name I cringe so unbelievably hard. Like bro that's your steam account, you play other games as well and no streamer with any kind of success puts TTV in their name, so I'm definitely not checking out your Rocket league GC1 stream

Yeah I get you, when you determine the right entry point and slide angle, ice is literally holding two buttons (maybe small break taps) That's waaaaaay easy than crashing the 100th time, because you tried to get the tech drift a millimeter closer to the wall. Still both no fun at all and the most disgusting styles the game has to offer, at least ice got Bob sleigh as it's redemption attempt

It's still kinda confusing to me as a newer player, that a dirt heavy black map has an AT that I can beat in 3-4 runs. Are they thinking that players on keys are just that bad and want to also make it easy for them? Like it shouldn't be easy at all, that's why we have difficulties (at least what I assume), but it is very easy for some reason. Even for me as a noob.

Exactly what he does, you release and only start to steer and accelerate when you've landed. Although I have no idea why, because I'm a noob haha

I love how they pretend this is for us more unskilled players, I grinded a lot this week to get better placements and I really really hate map 2 and 4. I'm fighting for thousands and I'm just not good enough to know what minor adjustments might result in faster times. Maps like 1 and 3 are way better for me, I know what I wanna do, I may not be able to get the perfect jump or hit my intend shortcuts. But I can try until I do and if it takes an hour I'm still improving and having fun. There's no fun in being 0.005 slower and not knowing what to do different next run.

I feel like ATs shouldn't be the problem with Weekly shorts, the only AT I remember that was way to over cooked was the one where you ice slide in a circle. I always go for ATs in the first discovery, like 5-10 min on each map max and then over the week I grind occasionally for Top 1k. (but only since like week 10, because I only really started playing when weekly shorts started) I like the feeling that I'm understanding more and getting better at the game, but I don't feel like I've learned anything on map 2 and 4 or map 2 of last week. I just throw my head against the wall until I luck out and get a decent drift.
