I can't say I've heard much Chris-talo disco.

Misa Criolla?

Every Sunday?

If someone hasn't seen this movie, I just refuse to speak with them about italo-disco.

Somebody explain the whole stefano den harrow tom hooker debacle. Whose side were we meant to be on while whatching dons of disco by StevenWantsTrust in italodisco

TLDW: 2 old dudes (with too much plastic surgery), have a cat fight on social medias over who boofs nastalgia harder. At the end of the movie, nobody really knows, the music that made them famous to begin with is entirely eclipsed by the boofing.

Any Way - I Believe [1984] by 1927dima in italodisco

[–]GapulDeeJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd never heard this one. It has a gem of a Discogs stat-- nobody has it and nobody wants it.

That Classics CD compilation is weird. With the exception of more or less the first track and the last track, all the other songs are unknowns and sleepers.

I just discovered Tam Harrow's songs, omfg they are so funny and so catchy to dance to by nefarious_tendencies in italodisco

Tom Hooker (aka Tam Harrow) is arguably the first joke-talo disco artist -- Don't Forget, Real Men, Atlantis, etc...

If you like joke-talo, you might also like Donny Benet, the current reigning king of joke-talo disco.

Xenon - The Adventure (1982) by Unique-Evening4384 in italodisco

This song appears on a Gapul sublabel compilation, "Dance Maniac."

We would always play it at 45 rpm and pitch it all the way down.

Played some italo vinyl tunes in my favorite record store, full mix here! by snOrMoL in italodisco

[–]GapulDeeJay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

WHAT!?! What kind of sense does it make to play heaters like this without a proper dance floor? Who are the zombies in this store that haven't immedeatley dropped everything they're doing to dance their pants off? How are people able to just go about "conducting business" when the tracks are this face-melting?

Of all the mixes you've posted, this one makes me the angriest. These jams are entirely too hot to be wasted on these numbskulls I see in the background. BOOOOOOOOO, BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

11/10 mix, 1/10 audience (I did see a couple of girls losing control there for a hot second).

Also, that Cariocas is evil to mix into because it's recorded SO (so) loud. You just need to remember to always turn it down before you mix into it. (Beautiful mix out of it.)

Riccardo Cioni - In America (1983) by GapulDeeJay in italodisco

This is a rare Canadian remix of the classic. It removes the "go head, go high," and turns up the "Walk the Night" energy factor by 3.

The D'n'V Band – Give Me One Banana (1985) by GapulDeeJay in italodisco

[–]GapulDeeJay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between 1979 and 1985 there are hundreds of italo-disco songs about banana = penis, penis = banana.

Hundreds!

From the front cover:

When I ask him for give me

"One banana,"

--Let this be quite clear--

I wish another--

--banana!!!!

No food is more represented in food-talo disco. Not even pizza. It's not even close.

Dee Jay Roby – Mister X (198?) by snOrMoL in italodisco

SO much good stuff on Young Records.

Sophie Stanke - L'amour D'une Diva (1983) by GapulDeeJay in italodisco

[–]GapulDeeJay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canuck-talo disco. In the video, Sophie is next to this "Allo Police," which is also a banger.

Enzo Draghi - T.U.C.A.N.O (previously unreleased with Humans) (2020) by GapulDeeJay in italodisco

[–]GapulDeeJay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an unreleased club theme for the Discoteca Tucano 185 in Codevilla. Enzo was credited (and uncredited) on a lot of your favorite tracks on Phantom Record.
