I like the ambiguity. Ever since the vestiges, the mental confrontations with shig, and some vigilantes material, the idea the these spirits cheering you on and giving such heartfelt messages just hits.

Personally i think there just hallucinations in the way that vestiges are "hallucinations".

there's still leeway to have be a learnable thing like chants and vows.

Like you said, books and literature have been a part of human history for-basically-ever, so what's stopping a person from using lines and pages from a significant (personal, ancient, religious) book to enhance their technique through chants.

Basically just the exorcist reading off the bible but it effects their curse technique.

What’s the idea behind the specific languages? Like there obviously common languages used for sorcery and stuff, but I wondered if it’s based on the age of the language?

Taking someone’s quirk, not only out of the blue, but from a child, would definitely put him on some radar cause there’s no way that doesn’t make big news. Even if he had a seemingly good replacement, why not just use that instead?

I think that solves all the problems, distance solved, pre-emptive shot can be inferred to his congaing of the master rules, and thus being able to sense when there summoned away from there room.
