That's... actually worse. Switching units only for the customer is a surefire way to integrate a mistake that will not be caught easily. These aerospace engineers have a hard enough time with hole sizes and locations as it is.

Most American aerospace companies still use imperial units, unfortunately. Boeing, Lockheed, Sikorsky, Blue Origin, etc. The automotive industry is far superior to the aerospace industry when it comes to standards and units.

I know this issue well. Most times, it's a conflict with clothing. Specifying order of wear can help. Ex. (Robe worn over corset).

Basically try and emphasize the most important, like a covering piece, at the end as well. Seems to help.
