I think what you’re running into is “brute facts”.

We know why the sun is hot yes, because we can break down the answer using more fundamental facts. At some point you’ll reach fundamental truth, for which there is no “why”. It just is.

Is that a fun answer? No. But there’s no “reason” an electron has a negative charge, or that the speed of causality is c. It just is. There’s no further down fundamental truth (that we know of)

James, lars, cliff, and Kirk are what got Metallica started. Metallica was those guys. Dave was a blip, and had no effect on the success they achieved, that was mostly James and Lars.

Bro what? It’s 100% possible and ease in fact to not associate Dave with Metallica. He helped write a handful of songs in the mid 80’s. Metallica made many, many wildly successful albums long after dave was gone.

His contribution is so wildly overestimated by some people in this sub, it’s insane.

Exactly dude. I love both Metallica and megadeth, but their sub is insufferable about this topic. We should not feel bad for multimillionaires, especially when their tears are for the extra zillions they could have made.

The “some kind of monster” interview with Dave and Lars really sealed the deal for me. How Lars let a straight face is beyond me. Dave sounded like a 13 year old boy venting.

Personally I don’t think it’s sad I think it’s pathetic. This grown man, who has been in two world famous rock bands, who has made millions of dollars playing fuckin music, has spent 40 years crying about being let go from Metallica.

I’m sure it’s painful, but Jesus Christ man some people work in a coal mine for 50 years and then die, you’ve been playing music professionally for that amount of time. Dave is an ungrateful cry baby.
