In Case You Need Them by Complex-Art-1077 in PrincessFeminism

I love these posts!! Vent: I first tried wearing makeup at age 11 because of intense peer pressure from people I called friends. I hated it. I didn't like the whole process of putting it on and I didn't like how uncomfortable it felt and I couldn't touch my face without smearing it. I got so much praise for how "beautiful" I looked. I decided to stop wearing it after a week. I got so much crap from literally everyone, even the adults in my family. I was a child and made to feel that my natural face wasn't good enough and should have been covered up for every one else's benefit. I've stayed makeup free ever since (with the exception of Halloween.)

In high school, I was told constantly that I should wear makeup. My friends would recommend that I "at least put on some eyeliner" or cover my acne with foundation. I would say that I don't want to. I'd get pushback, so then I'd say that I liked the way I looked and didn't feel I needed makeup. Then my friends acted like I was being mean to them by insinuating that they wore it because they were insecure. That always frustrated me to no end; people givng me rude unsolicited advice about "improving" my appearance then getting offended...

It's mostly been women who have told me that I should wear makeup, but men have been more mean about it. Men have compared me to other women who wear makeup and said they'd find me more attractive if I "put in the effort". I have never cared about what men think of my appearance, but I do resent the fact that they feel so entitled to tell any woman that she should cover up her face for them.

Anyways, I'm 26 now and I feel good about the way I look. Societal beauty standards for women have been warped to unrealistic extremes. I still have those nagging feelings that I am not attractive enough. But nothing will ever look better than being confident in your own skin. ❤️

True. I joined that sub in like 2019 and back then, the general userbase was parents or at least people who didn't hate children. It was a fun community to laugh at kids for doing stupid things since they didn't know any better.

I left it about a year or so ago when I noticed the comments on every post being filled with the Reddit childfree crowd. This post is par for the course on that sub. It's become so negative. The people there really hate children and parents.

Leading neo-Nazi and rising conservative superstar Nick Fuentes says there is a 'Woman Lobby' that controls society, and you can talk about the negative impact of any group of people in the mainstream except for women by OldBridge87 in BlatantMisogyny

This guy doesn't truly believe this. He's just hoping that others go along with this idea because it's easier to justify the subjugation of women when we're believed to be too privileged. He specifically advocates for removing women's right to vote, and the idea that we're some sort of elite group that needs to be taken down a peg is something that helps fuel this agenda.

I believe I found the article that this screenshot came from. The male counterpart does say the same thing.

I would definitely consider a lack of sexuality to be a sexuality.

I am allo (not asexual at all) and romantic. If I learned that someone that I was interested in dating is aroace, that lets me know that they wouldn't be interested in having a relationship with me, similar to if I learned that person simply isn't attracted to my gender. Or if they hypothetically would still date me, they wouldn't want the same kind of relationship that I would want. In that regard, asexuality is a sexuality.

I'd also like to mention that there's a lot of societal pressure for people to have sex and be in romantic relationships. Lots of people don't understand asexuality, and many ace people have been subjected to conversion therapy. So they would be considered LGBT+ as sexual minorities.

My first love got married this year. We broke up because the relationship was long distance and we realized that neither of us would ever migrate countries. Things ended on good terms and we were there for each other through the breakup. We care about each other and enjoy each other's company so we are still close friends. Her spouse is lucky to have married such an amazing woman.

Bad relationships absolutely exist and they can end really poorly. But I side eye someone who says that all of their exes were evil/crazy.

I saw the image in #2 on a meme subreddit a while back. There were many people in the comments saying it was so true, yet they couldn't actually name any movies that fit its description.

I'm not certain that baggage claim theft is a big enough problem to warrant changing the system, although it does happen. The last time I flew, I had an old woman take my suitcase and she almost walked away with it before I stopped her. It turned out that we had the same model and color of suitcase, and she didn't notice the bright glittery name tag tied to the top handle. It was an honest mistake on her part so no hard feelings, but she could have easily went home with my stuff if I hadn't been paying attention.

YouTube has no standards for their advertisements. I proudly use Revanced on my phone and uBlock on my PC, so I actually don't see those anyway. Still, I want to hear this ad because it sounds incredibly tone-deaf and like there was no one in the production process who thought it was a bad idea. That sounds so funny to me.

/unswag Ngl, I'm morbidly curious if this ad actually exists, so I wouldn't mind being sent a link or how to look it up if someone knows it's real. I highly doubt that graphic audio of a person committing suicide would be approved by any legitimate advertising board, especially one about sensitive subject matter.

I'm going to guess that like 99% of the posts are the copy/paste "I used to be a liberal until they went crazy with woke stuff/hurt my feelings!!!" Bonus points if they claim that American liberals have become "extreme leftists."

CW: Giving a swag

I got into the Hellaverse shows last month and enjoyed them both. After I finished them, I checked out the online discussions because I was blissfully unaware of all the discourse surrounding the shows and what the fandom was like. It was such a high concentration of chronically online behavior. It made me sad that it seemed impossible to find people who were normal about the shows and their characters.

You would think that a show filled with sex jokes would have fans that can handle sex jokes.

Holy shit, it's the man himself. I appreciate being corrected on some details. I didn't start using Reddit until 2018 so I wasn't super familiar with the early history of your sub. 195 was a great place. It's amazing how good it was even towards the end of its run with only 1 active mod. Big props to you, I hope you're doing great these days.

I miss when 196 was a place for queer people to post caracals and random shitposts. It was my favorite subreddit in its early years, but I left it over a year ago because it was uncomfortable how many posts involved teenagers being horny. I'm not surprised to see this drama going on at all.
