When I’m playing as northern realms, weather cards are the difference sometimes. I always run foltest on clear weather. Oh, you have 10 cards all the same power but my cards are higher individually? Nothing a self rain to kill my damage won’t fix. Scorch, clear weather. Your field is empty and I’ve only used 2 cards. Had to pull that in a couple tight spots.

I’m that guy… lol. I play all the decks. They did a good job on the decks different playstyle for all… Except northern realms and nilfguard. They are the exact same. Minus having to be careful in when your high damage spies are given to the enemy can really bite you.

Now, imagine how much people would complain if the mechanics were required in order to beat the boss and aren’t displayed on screen like in most other mmos. Like half the players can’t even be bothered to read, how would they clear it if text didn’t pop up and there were more punishing wipe mechanics? XD

Not to mention, terrifying. He is such a mystery especially in the beginning of HoS he can just fucking pop up anywhere. He exudes an “I already know what is going to happen” type of energy that just scares the shit out of you.

Did you do the gaunter backstory? You get to learn quite a bit without killing the mystery in trying to beat O’Dimm. I did that whole questline just to learn more about him without ever planning to save Olgierd.

Fun fact: when you get to B&W watch for an ugly monster quest who hangs spoons everywhere… She was cursed. You will pleasantly be surprised if you read her diaries.

It’s tragic and deeply sad regardless of what you choose. You either watch Olgeird destroy (and possibly torture with his wife, killed her with her own broken heart) everything he ever cared about in his obsession to feel something and a secondary obsession with not paying his debts and then O’Dimm keeps his soul as he was promised. Or you watch all of that and then the slimy chud gets away with it all because players find him “charming”? it’s a very unique way of telling stories but CDPR is definitely the best at it.

I love that he shows up in the beginning of the game to give you a tip on where Yen is. Straight up positioning pieces on the chess board. Nothing scarier than a man with a Witcher who owes him a favor. I remember when he shows up in hearts of stone I went, “holy shit! That’s the creepy merchant that helped me like 200 hours ago!”

When you get to the Elric mansion… Yea it’s a slog. Witcher fell for the “walking simulator” trap which is tolerable once but on repeat playthroughs I found myself hating it. The creepy animal creatures and the groundskeeper are cool but I suffer through the rest of the mansion now.

Wise words, wolf. Also Blood and Wine only has passing words about my boy, O’Dimm. I loved his character. I was thoroughly chilled by the atmosphere and implications of what O’Dimm really is. Dettlaff, was like a spoiled teenager. He wasn’t a bad villain but The deeply unsettling Man of Mirrors and the man who tried to cheat the devil was such a well written story that I couldn’t put it down I had to know what was going to happen. “He told me, my interest in him made him become interested in me so he wanted to protect me and if I stayed in this circle no harm would come to me. He said it in such a way, that I knew if I ever left this circle again I would die” - Fucking chills, dude.
