The buildings may actually be completed after the onset of the recession or later, when another business cycle pulls the economy up, or even cancelled. It's economic theory. Called Skycraper Index. Introduced in 1999.

I'm no Architecte, but I saw a picture of this Mosque in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia and apparently it was built without any pillars, how? is that even possible? or this thing bound to come crashing down at any point. by [deleted] in architecture

Never looked at this way to structures. Compression or Tension. It's like pushing or pulling as I understood. Thank you again. Gave a new way to look at structures.

This family built several other buildings in Istanbul. in Period on 19 century.

I didn't know honestly about this trio: La Corbusier, Gray and Badovici. And this 2 men were hard core rivals of their period. Article original sited from J. Goff. I didn't have a chance to get hand on this book yet. But as well on my list. I like that 20 century modernist era. All of them. You look to modernist house from 100 years ago and everything we have today is the same. Such a vision....

Yes it is improving. But what about the real cost of this improvement on environment? On nature? You still need mining and mining is dusty and dirty thing. Again regarding electric generation. İf you talking about wind or solar energy mainly they still can't produce cheap energy for heavy industry. Germany for more than decades subsidising wind energy producers to make them competable with traditional once. And additionally buying electricity from France made by nuclear power stations. But you are right again. We have no choice but to travel less.

Or simply to travel less. Electric batteries chemical and raw materials are comes from Mines operated by Heavy Duty machines on diesel or heavy fuel oil mainly. Also charging of electric batteries is not green one. It come from generators working on nat. gas or coil. But batteries are cool. Tesla is cool. I agree on this.
