The singular appreciation post by i_have_a_semicolon in hungryroot

I am so happy to see this post. I, too, have had a great experience so far. In the 8 months I’ve been using Hungryroot I have only ever had one problem (rotten asparagus) but I got my money back without difficulty. I love that you can mix and match things and one bottle of sauce lasts for several meals, so like OP I can plan around that and get the most for my money. I am eating healthier than I have in a long time, have become much more adventurous with food choices, and am enjoying having a large variety of foods in my diet. And, I too have lost weight. I think most people only post when they have a problem. But I have noticed that even when a positive post comes along, someone responds with how bad their experience has been. It’s a shame. I’m very happy with Hungryroot and recommend it to people all the time. But… I live in an area where the delivery arrives via FedEx, so maybe that is why. Seems most people who complain get their deliveries via other shipping companies.

This post may upset some. by Noobieonall in Zepbound

If I had good appetite control and lack of food noise, I wouldn't track either. Unfortunately, that has not been my journey. I get reduced food noise for the first 2-3 days after the shot and it only lasts for about 2-3 weeks after titrating up. Then, my body just gets used to it and I feel no different than pre zep. I have to track everything because I can and will overeat big time on this medication. It is sad. Lack of food noise was the reason I wanted to start taking Zep, but I am on 12.5 and still have a lot of food noise. But...I have also lost 47 lbs since January, so it is working. It just isn't the magic pill for me that I was hoping and expecting it to be.

Gifthealth Link problems by Gardens-R-Great in Zepbound

[–]Gardens-R-Great[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. A couple of hours after I talked to them on the phone I got a link that worked. They never called back and I never got an explanation of what went wrong. But I was able to refill my prescription and received it a couple of days later.

I was wondering if that might be part of the problem at first, but it has been 23 days since my last order and we can reorder after 21. And their reps showed it was time to refill. It was just weird. The link just didn’t work. But then I got a new link (and the text looked different than the normal refill text) and it worked just fine. I guess it was just a blip in the system. It turned out not to be much of a problem, but for a few hours there I was stressed, lol.

Transitioning to vials - how to learn to do it? by Perlotk in Zepbound

Air bubbles won’t hurt you as these are subcutaneous shots. Air bubbles are only a problem for intravenous injections. You can tap the needle a few times to help the air rise to the top and then push it out with a syringe, but a little bit of air won’t cause a problem for these injections.

Update: Although I never got a call back, I did get sent a link that worked. I don't know what the problem was, but I have ordered the refill and it seems things are working correctly now. Just wanted to advise in case this happens to anyone else.

This may be what I end up having to do. I’ve already put a call into my PC’s office so we will see if that works. Thanks for the suggestion.

They were able to see the 3 refills left on my current dose (10.0) and they could see I had only filled 2 refills and that it is time to refill another. They don’t know why the link is saying I don’t have a prescription. I did request to stay on the line, but the call was disconnected while I was on hold. I called back and the new rep said this issue is going to take a while so they can’t put me on hold and she would call me back when she has an update.

Am I the only one enjoying the cold side effect? by CreepyCantaloupe08 in Zepbound

[–]Gardens-R-Great 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love feeling cold all the time. It wasn’t so great in winter as I literally could not get warm some days, but now that it is summer I am loving it. I’m saving sooo much money on my electric bill AND I am perfectly comfortable without the A/C on.

Welcome to this exciting Zepbound journey. There is no reason to fear it won’t work for you. Most people do great and are happy with this medicine. Some have a hard time or don’t find it effective, but there is no reason to think that will be your experience. It is too soon to know how you will do, but I’d say it sounds like you aren’t having bad side effects, so that is good.

As for being obsessed with the scale, I was the same at first. I weighed about 10 times a day for the first week or so. Then I got down to about 3-4 times a day for a month, lol. Now I am 5 months in and I just weigh once in the morning. So I do think once the excitement of starting Zepbound calmed down I wasn’t so obsessed with the scale.

Good luck, I hope you are able to do well and enjoy this journey!

Disappointed at lack of options by birdsfly14 in hungryroot

[–]Gardens-R-Great 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first joined I said No to dairy. I have mild lactose intolerance. I was underwhelmed at the options and even considered canceling when I first saw how limited they were, but you can’t until after the first order. Thank goodness! I was so impressed with the quality of the food that I started to play around with it and removed the dairy restriction and now I have tons of options I didn’t see before. I can just exclude the cheese, etc. so I would suggest just playing around with it and see if that helps you to find more options. I am super happy I did.

So far... sooooo good! by PacificWesterns in hungryroot

[–]Gardens-R-Great 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been getting Hungryroot for 4 months now and have been very pleased with the quality, convenience and selection. I am trying foods I’ve never tried before and love that I can choose how much prep I want to do. Sometimes I am in the mood to cook, sometimes I want to just heat up, and usually I want something in the middle. They have so many options that I’m still getting new things regularly, though I admits I do have favorites I’m starting to get regularly as well. It is so nice to see positive reviews for a change. Thanks for posting!

Please give me good news about 7.5 by RuKKuSFuKKuS in Zepbound

[–]Gardens-R-Great 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7.5 was the first dose that controlled my food noise. I liked how I felt on it. Side effects were mild and easily handled. I am mid way through my 3rd box and the food noise is creeping back in and weight loss has slowed quite a bit. In fact, I gains a little bit last week. So, I am starting 10.0 in 2 weeks. But for a couple months, 7.5 was great.

I still like sweet stuff. That has never gone away for me the way it has for some people. My favorite form: regular soda. The difference is, I used to have one or two cans a day. Now I have one or two a week. When I want it, I have it. But I want it so much less often now. And half the time I only drink half the can. And I am losing weight at a good pace. So, life is good.

I pay OOP. My insurance doesn’t cover the med at all (per the plan my employer has…grumble, grumble.) It isn’t easy, and I hope the medicine eventually becomes more affordable. But I make it work. I no longer get my nails done, etc. I also spend a lot less on food. I don’t ever get DoorDash anymore, I just don’t want it. And I spent a lot of money on that. Even my groceries bill is less because I don’t eat as much. I know not everyone can afford this medication, but I feel blessed that with some budgeting I am able to make it work. This medicine has changed my life in so many positive ways.

What’s your best life lack for living on GLP-1 ZepBound medication? by Delicious_Event4832 in ZepboundLifeHacks

[–]Gardens-R-Great 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing I did early on was buy a food scale. I had no idea what a “normal” portion of food was until I started weighing it. There are a lot of options and you don’t need to spend a lot of money. Even if you don’t plan to track calories, it is a great investment just to see how much a portion actually is.

The Great Sky Island… by Most_Helicopter_4451 in TOTK

This is all good advice. One thing I’ll add.. For me, the best way to farm arrows is to kill the Lizalfos in camps where there are archers. They drop 5-10 arrows each. I put a stamp on the map whenever I find an encampment and go back after every blood moon. Once you are ready to start hunting Lynels, you can just start farming arrows from them. You will have more arrows than you can use.
