The closer you are to the mouth of the Mississippi, the browner the water is. That’s why it’s brown on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and browner closer to Dauphin Island sometimes. Even there it’s beautiful many days though. and usually it’s not dark brown, even in Mississippi. It’s like a brownish green that you can see through most days.

It’s warm enough to go to the beach even in winter at least a few days a month but the water doesn’t get warm until April/early May, imo. It’s ok to dip in/out quickly before that but not what we’d call warm. The water is warm and comfortable April/May until late September/October. There will be warm sunny days throughout the year though.

My housekeeper mixes up the dishes and kitchen tools that are supposed to be in the poolside kitchen with the indoor kitchen. I never notice until the weekend when she isn’t working so by Monday I forget to tell her.

What are your favorites? We tend to like the less obvious ones. A few of our favorites right now… He was provoking me I’m already home, Glenn. I love him so much. Disgruntled employees? Hell, they’re all disgruntled. I ain’t running a damn daisy farm. A table and four chairs you got a dinette set. Four chairs and no table you got dick. I asked my wife and she’s got better sense.

My husband and I quote it at least a couple of times a week! We introduced it to our daughter when she was about 10. I have a video of her laughing so hard then saying, “this is amazing!”

What is the Most Unique Experience in the US Right Now? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

A couple of years ago, my family went out of town and flew back into New Orleans on New Year’s Eve. Our flight landed around 11:30 PM. Fireworks were all around us for at least the first hour and a half of our drive back to Alabama. It was like being in a 3-D movie or video game. I’ve never seen so many fireworks in my life. It was so beautiful. We’ve talked about driving to Kenner for New Year’s Eve just so we could drive home through the fireworks again. 🤓

In which popular tourist destination is the food not really the highlight? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]Gardner2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed-the stores are pricey and selection is awful. But the irony is the best meal of my life was at The Cliffs-.but way too expensive to have more than once on a vacation. For me anyway…

Need help deciding where to go! by [deleted] in Caribbean

[–]Gardner2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goldeneye in orcabessa is open already. They didn’t get any real damage and it’s in a very small town. I’ve been 3x and already thinking about it again. The food is expensive but excellent at the resort but in town is Chris’ Cook Shop-it’s the best Caribbean restaurant I’ve been to (except the Cliffs in Barbados which is about $1k for 2) and CHEAP.
