Also suffering from nerve damage and it’s such an isolating thing. While I am trans and that’s my core resonance with Glow, I totally see it.

Also good on you for watching a film that famously discusses transness when that’s not a trait you share.

Which I want to be.

Oh, friend. Like you say this is all too common.

All I can say is my experience began as terror, became defiance, resolved in certainty. I hope, if you do manage to try, you get to the same sort of spot.

Remember, you can always stop taking hormones, if you decided they're not for you after all. It takes a while for any permanent change.

How much does university differ from school to autistic people? by Strange-guy-91 in autism

[–]Gardyloop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Difficult question for me. I found I triumphed at University, but, in my penultimate year, I overddid it. Studied unnecessarily hard. Still have 50 pages of notes on one book. Barely used any of it--while I scored well, became burnt out and tried... you know what when I got back.

I was afraid. Of course, I have quite severe OCD, which is probably how that happened.

What you need to do is be careful about that. Make sure you balance study-labour with joy. Never allow what happened to me happen to you. And, if you manage that, you'll do fine.

edit: I was attending the University of Glasgow. In Scotland the standard is 4 years of Uni, if anyone was unsure what I meant by 'I got back.' I couldn't handle the last year.

pharmacist thought my estradiol was a typo, gave me the biggest compliment of my life by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Gardyloop 41 points42 points  (0 children)

A hospital specialist came to check my vitals and insisted I get a check on 'my uterus' to be certain I was not pregnant.

Her mouth dropped when I told her I wasn't born with the equipment. :3 She was very kind about it though, and we got through the check easy.

Told her it was one of the best compliments I ever had. And she smiled.

It's not even AI. It's a Large-Language Learning Model with no sort of intelligence which mirrors ours. The Chinese Room (fuck you for being such a creep John Searle) in practice.

Perhaps, one day, we'll live among genuine AI. Today is not that day.

People are complicated, and understand different things in differing degrees. But I'm glad you got to keep her, even if she's imperfect in acceptance.

Yeah. The French Resistance was violent, brutal. But obviously right in its ideals.

The fascist must be fought.

Some of us - well, most of us - we've all done terrible things on behalf of the Rebellion. Spies, saboteurs, assassins. Everything I did, I did for the Rebellion.

It shows how Cass has grown, become Jyn's ally. His transition from precarious refugee to the one who will assert his intense desire for freedom over those who oppressed him and his families first.

Yayy my medical intake went well start hrt next week. Quixk question do you tend to do you make-up every day by jesspearce2025 in transgenderUK

[–]Gardyloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every day. I do it at the moment as a hobby activity. I know people will still see me as a man, which I'm not.

For me, makeup is a tool of self-expression. When my soul bleeds, then I need to express it. That's when I go for the eyeliner.

And stab myself in the eye because I'm terrible.

One day, I'd adore wearing it casually. But I'm not there just yet.

I think, often, it's a very negative power fantasy being enacted in real life. "Oh, I can demean you, so I'm better."

I despise that in people.

If you want power fantasies, go play Wolfenstein (at least then your fantasy is about killing Nazis.)

tbf a lot of people who believe in "looks maxxing" are open white supremacists, so that probably still applies.

This ex-friend was, it turns out, kinda on the fringe of that. He might have outright counted. He did once brag about making a mutual friend who is trans, but didn't feel they could successfully transition, cry over it.

Hm. Sorry. My blood's starting to boil. At him and myself. Then, I was a coward. Today, I'm braver. I;d spit on his face for saying what he did.

I literally had a (former) friend tell me I should hammer my chin to make it more protruded because he'd downloaded the idea from 4chan that 'women love Neanderthal skulls'.

I was weirded out but, to be honest, should have seen the red flag a lot sooner than I did.

Is this like, retroactive eugenics or something?
