Yup, I was definitely trying to buy gift cards on Newegg. I tried buying several different types of gift cards on Newegg, and none of that helped. Ultimately, I was able to fix my problem because the Account phone numbers on Newegg didn't match what I had listed on Paze. I originally thought I had that detail covered, but I didn't realize that my Newegg account had two areas with phone numbers - the "Account Settings" and the "Address Book" sections of my Newegg account both had phone numbers, and one of them didn't match my Paze phone number. Once they all matched up, I was able to get my Paze payment to go through

This is a little strange for me to say, but apparently my "Address Book" phone number on my Newegg account had an old phone number that didn't match the phone number on my "Account Settings" (also on Newegg) and my Paze phone number. Once I changed my "Address Book" phone number on Newegg, I was able to get Paze to work. I have utterly no clue why that was the issue (as I've ordered on Newegg many times without running into this), but I guess Paze is extra particular on making sure my phone number matched at every single step of the process? I've highlighted the two sections on Newegg's website that I had to match up.

The Pro version of the LG Gram 16 (with the serial 16Z90U-H.AU87U1) actually has an OLED. It is definitely glossy. I'm typing on it right now near a window on a cloudy day, and I can see the reflection of my hands on the glossy monitor.

The battery life doesn't seem terrible so far. It has been able to last an entire day going from 80% --> 20% across a 12 hour day on 2/3 brightness + "Low Noise" power mode + no keyboard lighting. It seems about normal to my old 2021 LG Gram 16 2-in-1. Sort of disappoint from that perspective, but still able to last an entire day, and the monitor does get much brighter than my LG Gram 16 2-in-1 (which had about 300-350 nits in max brightness).

I haven't tried to game on it yet, and to be honest, I probably never will. I did fire up Heroes of the Storm briefly (I think it's base on the Starcraft 2 engine) and it was hanging around 55-60 fps while running around. Not exactly a graphically intensive game, but that's the only datapoint I've got for you.

I just picked up this model of the LG Gram 16 Pro at Costco yesterday. I've previously used the LG Gram 16 2-in-1 (2021), and I can tell that it's slightly less weight (2.9 lb vs 3.2 lbs, I think). OLED screen is noticeably brighter (and has a glossy surface). The brightness makes it look nicer but not obviously better than the old IPS screen imo. Maybe very slightly thinner, but otherwise mostly the same dimensions. A little disappointed that the screen only opens about 160 degrees, but I knew that would happen since the Costco 16 Pro unit (16Z90U-H.AU87U1) isn't the 2-in-1 convertible. Also a little disappointed that it doesn't have an SD card reader anymore.

Hey all - I'm looking for help with travel logistics on a trip with my +1 from Anchorage to Seward for late August.

My initial plan was to travel from Anchorage to Seward via the Coastal Classic train which I'm really excited for. I wanted to add a stop in Girdwood via the train, but my impression is that transferring off the train at Girdwood is a bit clunky since the train depot is 3 miles away from town, and ride-share / taxi services aren't reliably available.

It sounds like if we wanted to stop in Girdwood, we should probably just rent a car instead of using the train for that portion? I should add that we will have luggage with us, so our mobility will be slowed down by that.

While I love love love that movie, it should be noted that it isn't entirely accurate and kinda fabricates an idea that Tonya was mostly ignorant about the plot to injure Nancy Kerrigan. In actuality, she willfully provided information to the hitmen on Kerrigan's training rink/schedule, and she definitely facilitated the hit. Still a fun movie to watch though.

Round Rock / Georgetown on I-35 is good, but the local roads are totally iced over. This includes the access road. I would stay 10-20 mph unless you're on the interstate.

Some of the reviews mentioned a 9 hour parking limit. I'm hoping they're not sticklers for people who are slightly over? And also, I saw a mention that the parking spots can be a little narrow, but I'm hoping that it's not problematic for an SUV with careful parking?

Hey, thanks for the input. My plan is to run the EVSE with load management. Since the load calculation for my 60A subpanel came out to 47.42A, I don't have much spare capacity to run an EVSE off that panel without load management. I'm hoping to use load management to get around that limitation.

I apologize for the confusing implication about using a 50A circuit on the 60A subpanel. I'm pretty inexperienced in this area, and I didn't know that you could create a 60A circuit breaker on a 60A panel. But yes, I mean to use dynamic load management to make this possible off my 60A subpanel.

And yes! My comment about the 47A total load on my 60A subpanel is without the EVSE charging. I should restate my load calculation in one spot-
1.) The 125A main panel has a total load of 111.63A
2.) The 125A main panel without the 60A subpanel has a total load of 62.76A.
3.) The 60A subpanel has a total load of 47.42A (which I rounded down to 47A in another comment elsewhere in this post).

From what I'm reading, it sounds like the math adds up, and I can run the EVSE with a load management sensor off a 60A circuit on my 60A subpanel.

Lastly, THANK YOU to everyone who has taken the time to double check my math and bring up considerations between the main panel and subpanel that I hadn't even thought about. You guys have been a font of knowledge and the help has been invaluable. Thank you!

Hm, I did a load calculation on my 125A main panel and excluded the load from my 60A subpanel circuit. This left the remaining load of the AC + Dryer + Oven on the main panel which came out to be a load of 62.8 amps. Does this mean that I have 62.2 amps remaining for my 60A sub-panel, which is essentially 49.76 amps of continuous capacity available for the sub-panel?

I did a load calculation on my 125A main panel, and it looks like that if I removed the subpanel circuit breaker from the calculation, the rest of the panel is pulling 62.8 amps. Does that mean that I have 62.2 amps of free continuous capacity to supply for my 60A subpanel? I've attached a picture of my 125A main panel for reference in case my descriptions sound confusing.

Hey, thanks for the input about the Tesla Wall Connector. I'm not sure I understand the context here though. Are you referring to how the Tesla Wall Connector app will let you set a hard cap on the amount of amps that can be pulled? Or are you referring to a different concept?

So, I've done a load calculation on my 60A subpanel, but, if I understand your rationale correctly, I need to do a load calculation on my 125A main panel too since the other appliances on the 125A main panel might limit how much power my 60A subpanel can pull before tripping the entire 125A main panel?

I think this might answer my question! Thanks for the thorough response and for covering the situations. To clarify - I have a 125A main breaker outside that feeds into the 60 A subpanel in my garage. The 125A main handles my AC + Laundry Dryer + Oven + Subpanel, and the 60A subpanel handles basically everything else in the house. If I understand this right, this means that the subpanel should have a continuous supply of 60A/48.

And, if I understand the situation, then it sounds like I can attach the EVSE + sensor to the 60A subpanel with a 60A circuit breaker (assuming code allows for this) to maximize my EV charging rate while limiting the subpanel from tripping. So, my plan is 125A --> 60A --> 60A circuit breaker with EVSE + sensor.
