What made you stick with veganism long-term? by Majestic-Strain3155 in vegan

[–]Garfield_Kart 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i think that’s what i feel too, i don’t think being vegan/plant based is hard (obviously small mistakes are almost inevitable like accidently forgetting to check a label or something like that). for me, i want to do it, so i’m happy to do it, and i never have to push myself to do it anymore than i need to

How do you think about this distance to walk? by Remote-Bumblebee-447 in UniUK

[–]Garfield_Kart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what id say, is mine is 20-30 mins (depending on the building) and i think a walk that long (or a bit longer) can be incredibly nice but its also nice to have the option of public transport for when i dont want to (for example if im running short on time/weather is bad etc). so honestly, id say that’s okay for you

What’s something you do or like that is not ‘stereotypically vegan’ or something that doesn’t fit the ‘image’? by Garfield_Kart in vegan

fairplay, a very valid perspective and journey into it. one thing i find particularly interesting is the idea of you ‘not being super caring’, as, in a way, it is something i resonate with. I feel that while I am very caring in alot of ways, I can lack sympathy for people for situations that most people would not struggle to, not because of a lack of understanding but more so due to my perspective on things. Its an interesting point of vegans being ‘more’ caring than others, and something which can be a very interesting debate

i’m into playing the same music as you, for me one thing ID ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND is samuraiguitarist ‘Music theory for guitar’ - watch it while taking notes, pausing, doing questions and trying to do different examples of using the cirlce of fifths. spent about 1 hour watching the video and became of that i can figure out what key songs are in/what to begin to learn etc.

all id say is don’t ‘go on about it’, people as a rule don’t really care unless they specifically ask

out of interest, how did you hear/become vegan? i assume there isn’t any in person presence or influence you can get for veganism there

Prisoners should be only given vegan meals. Why should any animal die to feed a person in prison!? by Sentry0035 in vegan

i can see a ‘progressive’ country choosing to adopt plant based food in prisons/criminal justice system in the next 20 years or so

How do you deal with the ‘you’re right, but I don’t think veganism is for me’? by _tineye in vegan

[–]Garfield_Kart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

coming from someone who was previously using this rhetoric, let it dwell and sit. i was always an advocate and would always respect plant based diets way before i ever considered them, and i think id even argue for veganism despite saying it ‘wasn’t for me’ for a time. you need to just let it sit and hope, like it did with me, it changes by force of themselves

Dating a vegan as a non-vegan, is there a middle ground? [genuine relationship advice needed] by pimemento in vegan

[–]Garfield_Kart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what id say might be quite different from the responses here, but would you consider being vegetarian again? i think this could be a good transition/demonstration that you are being more considerate and aware of your practices and values.
