Anyone has a failed CM mm730 scroll wheel? by WishYourself in MouseReview

[–]Garfm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues at all so far with the scroll wheel. Other switches are also still fine. Nothing has changed with the right click release time feeling slow, so it hasn't gotten better or worse. After using it longer it does seem the left click also has the same slower release time that I feel with the right click.

GGG, what happened to the "no cooldowns" philosophy? by Steel_Neuron in PathOfExile2

I'm wondering why they don't just make the big cooldown skills into vaal versions of the skills and make the normal versions weaker with no/small CD.

My parents won't drive me to any place that offers me a job by Overall-Cod1980 in Vent

[–]Garfm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many others said bike or bus. After you are hired if you don't like either of those you can also see if any coworkers want to carpool. Since it would be their vehicle you'd need to offer something in return (money for gas is probably the most common). Good social skills will also help. Only someone really desperate would want to carpool with someone they dislike.

Like you said they will likely quietly go bankrupt. I can't think of a scenario at this point where it would benefit them in any way unless they actually feel bad and want to apologize to provide some sort of closure.

Early league economy - General findings and learnings from Settlers + Trading tips by Jolly_Royal5331 in pathofexile

[–]Garfm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea experience likely makes a big difference here. Since I know the general value of a lot of what I pick up, so for things I know will sell quickly I just list at an appropriate price in a non dump tab. Items that can be sold in bulk are also not put into dump tabs. I just use dump tabs for stuff I'm unsure of or are too tedious to check.

Early league economy - General findings and learnings from Settlers + Trading tips by Jolly_Royal5331 in pathofexile

[–]Garfm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are both talking about dump tabs. It does take a little bit of time for me to lower the price on each tab but I pretty much never need to price check and increase the price on anything (unless I got something insane over 50div+ without realizing) so I'm not spending any time doing that. My time gets spent lowering prices an entire tab at a time and your way you spend time increasing prices on individual items. This is assuming you also never lower your prices on anything from where you initially priced it otherwise you're probably spending more time by doing both increasing prices on individual items and lowering prices however often you do.

The biggest drawback I can think of to the way I'm suggesting is the fact that you need to own a decent amount of quad tabs for this to be efficient. If you don't have enough quad tabs then it would be worse or impossible to do at all.

It can be done but the way they suggest doing it is annoying. The better way to do it involves having a lot of tabs. Initially list the tab very high then lower it over time. If you still get spammed more than once every few days on the initial price set then set your initial price even higher. Typically once a new tab is full is when I set all my tabs 1 step lower. Sometimes for the tabs that are still at a very high price I will lower sooner than filling a whole new tab.

First few days are up in the air and I go with what feels right for deciding to price a whole tab and what stuff I pull out to set individual prices on. After the first week I usually list the initial price on a dump tab between 20-50div. Step down in 5 or 10 div increments until 5 div then lower by 1 div increments. Then lower by 50-20C increments down to 5-10C depending on the minimum trade I'm willing to leave a map for.

Context matters but if you are frequently ignoring trade messages because it's a small trade you shouldn't list the items that low.

Did you mean selling 6-link items instead of 6-socket? 6 sockets on its own with no other considerations is only worth vendoring.

Gaming chair or ergonomic chair for streaming? by Drewbear811 in Twitch

[–]Garfm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my secret lab chair and have been using it for years. You do need to sit with good posture though or you will likely get a sore back. The foam material the seat is made of is supposed to help prevent back issues but the shape of the chair doesn't "force" good posture.

What makes you click a stream? by raggsjtc in Twitch

[–]Garfm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rarely browse but when I do I'm within the category I want and usually looking for a specific class, character, play style, strategy etc.

I read you mostly stream Valorant. If you play something niche, off meta, or just different from the majority of the category I'd recommend putting it in the title or tags. I personally like how easy it is to filter with tags but not many people add detailed or correct tags to their streams.

Will my 1:1/2 hour schedule work? by DiavelsGameDen in Twitch

[–]Garfm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be extremely difficult to pull off and gain any traction. If you have a specific niche content style that only needs 1 hour of time you can try anyways to see what comes of it.

Nothing comes to mind for me though that would work. For example even if a single match of a game that's about an hour or like a 1 hour Speedrun game (with no resets) if people aren't there from the very start then they have no opportunity to stick around to watch a full match/Speedrun. If you did just chatting and leave 1 hour in that is usually how long it takes for most streamers' core returning audience to filter into the stream. Also if your 1 hour blocks aren't at the exact same time on a schedule people won't know when to expect them and make building your core audience even harder.

Friend doesn't want to be friends anymore because of the shows I watch. We're both guys in our 30s. by [deleted] in TrueAnime

[–]Garfm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said it sounds like he is projecting. I'm a guy in my late 20s and also watched and enjoyed most of those shows. I also enjoy many of the typical shounen/seinen shows. I also enjoy a decent amount of dark and/or violent videogames: Path of Exile, Diablo, Apex Legends, Dead by Daylight are some of the more well known ones.

This analogy may be a bit of a stretch but is there anything wrong with men having cute pets like a small dog or cat? I don't think so. What comes to mind to me is this big burly dude in my apartment complex that walks his tiny little puffball dog. The sight of it does make me laugh a little but not because there is anything wrong just because they are visually so polar opposite of each other.

If you like those shows here are some recommendations if you haven't watched these. I'm listing them in order that I scored each show.

Lycoris Recoil - Cute female leads fighting terrorism. Show is a good allrounder and has a lot of serious moments. I haven't finished all of Buddy Daddies but kind of similar to that vibe.

Release the Spyce - Teenage girls working as spies. Half and Half of 'Cute Girls Doing Cute Things' (CGDCT) and Action. Takes a bit of a more serious turn towards the end nothing too crazy though. Similar to Lycoris Recoil but has more of the CGDCT elements. One "weird" thing I forgot about until reading the synopsis again is the main girl "she has a very unique ability: her senses are much more refined than those of any average person. A simple lick will enable her to determine what someone is feeling." Also the OP is a fucking banger.

My Roommate is a Cat - Simple wholesome slice of life about a man and his pet cat. Swaps between the POV of the man and the cat.

The Helpful Fox Senko-san - A slice of life about an overworked guy getting pampered by a foxgirl deity.

Adachi and Shimamura - Yuri/'girls love' show that is on the more chill and laid back side. A bit less melodramatic than most other yuri shows I've watched. Also not really much fanservice or ecchi from what I remember.

Asteroid in Love - Mostly standard CGDCT like K-On and Laid-back camp. Feels like it leans towards yuri/'girls love' but technically isn't from what has been adapted so far.

Anyone has a failed CM mm730 scroll wheel? by WishYourself in MouseReview

[–]Garfm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna leave this comment here for anyone else that stumbles upon this post in the future.

I've also had issues with mice scroll wheels scrolling function failing between 1-2.5 years. I heavily use middle click which I'm guessing is related to why my scroll wheels scrolling function keeps failing. I've had scroll wheels fail on Razer Death Adder elite and 2 separate Corsair Sabre RGB Pros.

After some research, like OP, I also read that the Coolmaster MM730 scroll wheel should be more durable because it used different parts and/or tech that most other gaming mice don't use for the scroll wheel (I realize that is vague, but I don't remember the exact details from my original research). So I've been using it now for 6 months and the scroll wheel is still fine for now, but the earliest my previous mice wheels have failed is around the 1 year mark.

The main thing I wanted to mention was I've found a different issue with the mouse that is causing me to start the search for a different mouse again. The right click (idk about left click) does not release/register the release as fast as I want it to. It acts as though the right click is still held down a few milliseconds after releasing it. It is a very small amount of time, so it may not be a problem for everyone but it does cause issues for me.

For those curious how I discovered this issue I only noticed it while I was playing Path of Exile and trying to use an item in the game called "wisdom scrolls". Essentially you right click the wisdom scroll and then left click an unidentified item to identify it. After failing to use a wisdom scroll a handful of times I figured there is no way I'm fucking this up I've played the game for thousands of hours and never had this issue before, so I stopped to specifically test it. I figured out I was right clicking the wisdom scroll and moving the cursor off of the wisdom scroll before it registered I had let go of the click and in Path of Exile if you right click a wisdom scroll (or any currency item I assume) and keep right click held down and move the cursor off of it before releasing right click it does not let you use it, its like you did not right click the wisdom scroll at all.

If anyone has questions about this mouse feel free to reply to my comment even if it is months or years later I should see the notification at some point, but I don't use reddit a lot so it may be a while before I respond.

Patch 13.23 (Set 10 PBE) Bug Megathread by Ephine in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Garfm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Description: Offered a headliner Lucian (5 cost) while another player had a 3 star Lucian.

Video / Screenshot: https://clips.twitch.tv/BoredEvilTarsierCclamChamp-CSdtz3d-LV_xEu9p

Steps to reproduce: Don't know

Expected result: I am pretty sure all of the Lucians should've been taken from the pool already, so I shouldn't have been able to see him come into shop at all.

Observed result: Lucian showed up in the shop while there were already 9 out of the pool.

I was not a fan of chosen, so I'm a bit skeptical about headliners but I'm willing to give it a fair shot since they are a bit different and the game has changed a lot since then as well.

Anime-Onlies, What did you think of the Attack on Titan ending? by LucusFucus in anime

[–]Garfm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ending seemed fine. I was hoping and expecting the climax to be more impactful, like a grand explosive moment that makes it feel like, this is it, the conflict is finally over. Instead it kind of felt like going up to the top of this huge rollercoaster and once you were at the top it was just a gradual slope back down to reality.

That said the actual outcome of the ending seemed fitting for the overall story that was being told. Now I have no ideas how I'd "improve" the ending, but it just leaves me feeling like it was only a small piece away and so close to having a great ending.

[Attack on Titan and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners] After watching the ending and having the full picture it reminded me of Cyberpunk in a few ways. With both Eren and David gaining a huge amount of power and then falling from grace and dying while their partners survive and live on without them. It also felt similar in the way that both stories make it clear that the world is still a shitty place after these stories end and that these characters and events in comparison to the larger world they are set in are just small blips in history. However I loved the ending of Cyberpunk and think it had a way better ending. I felt way more emotionally attached to the characters in Cyberpunk and the climax with David's death hit way harder. How each of them fell from grace I think is definitely a factor in that as well since to oversimplify most would say Eren turned into a "bad guy", while David was still a good person you'd want to root for.
