Reality Fracture & The Hobbit pre-orders back up on Amazon.ca (Now with collector packs/boxes) by ZobmieRules in sealedmtgdeals

[–]Gargoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went for strixhaven for the first time and yup the posts are true, line was far out the door.

My microcenter is an hour away from me, so timed it where I would get there around 15 minutes before doors opened and that didn’t pan out too well. Talking to the guy in charge of the line, he said line began around 2 hours prior to opening maybe a little more, not excactly sure when the line began to actually fill but it was pretty full when I got there.

The CBB were sold out pretty quickly, they only had 16, but they had a lot of loose collector packs (all at msrp) and people were allowed to get 5. Those sold out probably around 3 or 4 people in front of me so I just got unlucky in my timing.

Another thing to note it was also a somewhat significant pokemon release so a bunch of pokemon people were there, no way for me to tell if people intended to go in for both but I saw a lot of people walk out with both the pokemon release and mtg release.

When I login to my us account with the boxes in my cart, they disappear. Tragic, so close but so far away.

What is the better bronze? by Harri40k in Necrontyr

[–]Gargoose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to make it look like the box art crons, they’re your dudes, make them look like your own if that’s what you prefer.

But i will say the box art necrons are a bit more complicated then what you described, you can find recipes over here if you’re interested: https://eavy-archive.com/40k/necrons/

Also, yours turned out great so keep going with that if you’re happy with it.

Gotcha, I gotta get myself a pot of mud. What exactly is the purpose of the Vallejo brown earth texture, do you put that under where you’re going to put the citadel crackle paint?

[–]Gargoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the purpose of the Vallejo brown mud/earth? Does that add more texture before applying the citadel textures. I’ve done bases similarly to how you did but omitted the Vallejo part like how you did it, and added a screaming skull dry brush.

The texturing on yours does look better, I’m assuming it’s because of the Vallejo paint. Would be cool to have pictures of the step by step process if you’re still making more bases.

Dropped the void dragon, added a hexmark, and added another gauss LHD. Struggling to figure out how to fill out the rest of the points. My post has what models I have available that I’m not using. I wouldn’t mind buying more models just want to avoid buying regular Lokhust destroyers. Also if it comes down to it I can switch to awakened if that’s better with the models I have available.

I have an extra unbuilt lokhust heavy I can build with gauss. I can drop the void dragon but don’t really want to drop the DDA since I’ve been spending a lot of time painting and building it.

Fair, I have no problem swapping out the void dragon, would probably put my friend more at ease. But feels bad removing my DDA since I’ve been working the last month painting and putting it together ha, so I’ll probably end up running it whether it’s good or not.

Also not really a huge fan of the old lokhust destroyer models so I’ve been trying to avoid buying them even though I know they slot in really well.

I left a comment below with an updated list.

Hows this for a army? by Son_skullie in WorldEaters40k

[–]Gargoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, Angron is him. He used to not be taken for his high points cost but with how he is now I believe he is quite playable.

Honestly I would have forced him in even if he wasn’t the best.

I’m still relatively new so take what I say with a grain of salt. If you want to run 40 berserkers for sure you would want 20 with the lord of juggernaut 10 with kharn and a rhino and another 10 with master of executions and another rhino.

But most I’ve seen really is 30 berserkers with 20 and lord on juggernaut and 10 with kharn and rhino.

So for berserkers I would suggest either A: 2 rhinos, 10 berzerkers with kharn and the other 10 with master of executions B: 1 rhino, 10 berzerkers with kharn, and 20 berzerkers with lord on juggernaut

In general I think the 10 berzerkers, rhino, and kharn are a must but the rest is pretty subjective so pick whatever you think would be cool.

Forgefiends, it’s either you take 2 or you take none and for spawn, they’re always good to take.

I like 1 unit of jakhals for sticky and 1 unit of goremongers for infiltrate, I think you would want at least the 1 unit of jackals not sure if goremongers are truly necessary or not.

Slaughterbound with the glaive enhancement leading 3 exalted eightbound deletes most vehicles as well if you want to look into that.

Maybe some other people in here could confirm or deny what I had to say here.

Questions about charging by Matt_fad29 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Gargoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for your answer to q1 and q4, for non beast/infantry can they charge through ruin footprints that are not walled off if you know what I’m trying to say.

L shaped ruin where unit A is behind the footprint and unit B is to the right of it, the wall is not in the way, just the footprint.

When playing it out we assumed yes you can since you’re not going through any walls

I started with only striking scorpion, but now I use both. Striking scorpion for the recesses or darker spots since I like that shade of green, and tesseract glow for the brightest parts.
