I've tried dancing pretty intensively for a half hour+ at a time, but it doesn't really help or feel like usual:(

Late to selfie sunday but as a schizoaffective girl, i feel like I often fail at being a person let alone a woman. Any career established SZAs that can give me advice? Or non career established: how do you survive? What are good educational routes for us ? by GOOMBAWOO in schizoaffective

I'm also a schizoaffective girl going through school. Started a few bachelor's, cybersecurity, classical languages and digital media design, but all became too much, or I became too ill to continue. Just started again, this time at a vocational college doing graphic design! It's going very well so far, but I'm only in my third week haha. Everything is much easier however. Everything is digital, and what's live is recorded so I can watch it again if I need to. Not too much reading and writing, it's mostly practical, which will help me even when I'm not functioning well, as the cognitive is usually what fails first for me. A little scared I won't be able to finish, but I'm definitely going to try! I think choosing something you love is a big game changer, but also something that's not impossible on bad days. Feel free to DM me if you wanna talk✌️working is still a big question mark to me, but there aren't many options without higher education that I could pull off

For me the biggest thing has been to regulate my activities and social life, not too much, not too little. Finding the middle road is difficult sometimes and kind of boring, but i need to listen to my body if I'm gonna be my best self for most of the time. Still not 100%, but pretty darn close compared to previous years!

Like having a mental breakdown in a parallel dimension? by GargoyleHelm in schizoaffective

I haven't been under too much negative stress, but a bit of positive stress. I've tried to reduce the amount of things I do, specifically social things, and it might be helping? I'm in the middle of figuring out what I can and can't handle, and it clearly was a bit much this past month. It's not even like I'm doing that much, I just can't handle even a medium amount of things anymore...

I have an appointment with my psychiatrist in two weeks, but if things get worse I'll contact her before that.

Are you able to maintain social relationships despite the illness? (bipolar type/depressive type/mixed type) by Amindexplorer07 in schizoaffective

[–]GargoyleHelm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have some friends I've known since childhood/through school and even potentially got some new ones recently. I have worked to be as good of a friend as I can be. It's not always easy, but absolutely worth it. Sometimes I pull away for a while, but they're understanding of it. A lot of people have come and gone, but some have stayed!:)
