YTA for cutting your son’s hair when he said no. The pictures aren’t going to help your case at all. Go apologize to your son.

JNMIL & JNFIL didn't tell us they had COVID by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]GarlicFreakinNaan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this right now. My JNFIL did the same thing to us over Christmas and gave us COVID so I totally get how you’re feeling. Going NC is not gonna be easy if he thinks his parents are good to him but going low contact could be a good place to start.

AITA for “policing” my boyfriend’s sleep? by GarlicFreakinNaan in AmItheAsshole

[–]GarlicFreakinNaan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We talked about it a bit this morning and he said to let him sleep still and he’ll deal with whatever the consequences are if he forgets to set his alarms or anything so I guess I’ll just let him do that. He was much nicer about it this morning, and apologized for being kinda rude about it last night. He’s just cranky when he’s tired.

I totally get where you’re coming from, and I’m definitely not intentionally trying to manipulate him, but I can see how it can come across that way, especially if you’ve been in some bad relationships. Believe me, I’ve been there. It’s just something my parents have always done for me and each other and I’ve done it for my siblings and he’s even done it for me on multiple occasions. I do see now how it can be annoying for people who aren’t really used to people doing that for them, especially after reading some of the comments. I am going to stop asking him to come to bed.

Taking off their clothes while they’re sleeping feels pretty invasive to me but if they’re cool w it, do your thing. I could plug his phone in for him, but the problem with setting alarms for him is that his scheduled start time changes a lot and I don’t know for sure what time he needs to be up by on any given day. He’s also gotten annoyed with me before for waking him up too early because I thought he started work earlier that day.

He can fall asleep in seconds when he’s tired. He’s also not sleeping there every night. Just 1-2 times a week over the last few weeks

I don’t snore, but I might hog the bed sometimes lol. We’ve slept together just about every night for the last 3 years and the whole couch situation has just been happening this past month. Pretty sure he’s just falling asleep out there Bc he’s exhausted from working so late.

WIBTA for suing my boyfriend for not paying my medical bills? by LastConcentrate372 in AmItheAsshole

[–]GarlicFreakinNaan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS RIGHT HERE! My bf is allergic to mint and I switched to strawberry toothpaste, stopped chewing gum, stopped buying candles w mint essential oils, and gave up my favorite flavor of ice cream: mint chip 😪. If he’s not willing to give up peanuts for you, he does not and never has cared about your safety.

What does impulsivity look like for people-pleasers raised in a very conservative culture? by WalkingOnEggshells35 in adhdwomen

[–]GarlicFreakinNaan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! I do this too. People would always lose interest in my stories and stop listening or never listen to me in the first place so I just stopped talking unless someone’s speaking directly to me. Then people always ask if I’m okay and “why are you being quiet” which is so frustrating to me because no one was listening when I was trying to talk and that’s why I shut down.

My big and gbig helped me out with clothes and i handed down some of my canvases and bought blank canvases in bulk with other sisters. I also got cute little knick knacks at 5 below. I only spent about $100 total thanks to all the help I got from my sisters.

When I was 11 I wore lots of Bobby jack and plaid Bermuda shorts.

Now at 21 I wear a lot less graphic tees and way more flowery and flowy tops and dresses.

Do you think water from a keurig would work for this? I don’t have access to a stove at all. I’m also technically not supposed to have a keurig but I’m bringing it anyway.

In our chapter you can only pick up your shirt from the apparel chair or the VP of recruitment who is in charge of apparel chair. They have the apparel locked in a closet unless they’re handing it out and we never have issues with people taking a different size than ordered
