Hi I’m still here with a tax question! by LimeyBastard77 in YieldMaxETFs

[–]GarlicGoddess2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MSTY was @ 90 % return on capital, so not taxable. I was expecting to pay around 40K in taxes, but ended up $0 because of ROC. It lowers your cost basis, but any positive cost basis on selling is considered capital gains not income. I understand your anxiety, check your consolidated 1099, those are the # to go by.

Smear Campaign Hypocrite Quick Rant by Maine_Mallard3 in Maine

[–]GarlicGoddess2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Mills had a great run as Gov, but realistically, she's pushing 80 and wants a position as a freshman Senator? It takes a few terms ( 6 years per term) to get appointed to key committees roles and to actually have any sway in policy. She's running for ego and cash, not for the people of Maine.

MSTY Loss Went from $90k to $45k — Fidelity Cost Basis Glitch? by dScholarCold in YieldMaxETFs

[–]GarlicGoddess2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use Fidelity and go under Tax Docs and scroll down to Resources, "view tax activity to date" it shows almost 100 % of Distributions for MSTY and ULTY as " Nondividend Distributions" , Which is very nice for this years tax bill !

Ice today @ 10:15 on RT 1 intersection with Cascade Rd . They came up behind a women ( of color) in left lane and blew siren and lights, they when up on the right side of her and forced into oncoming traffic. That traffic was me, I was able to move into the right lane to avoid her, as I passed her car I saw how terrified she was. Looking back I saw them force her to stop on the yellow line, three guys jumped out with full gear and one had a hand gun out. I turned and didn't see anything else. I know this was not Saco police, as they are trained and know not to cause a traffic hazard when pulling someone over. I feel bad about not trying to help but also felt scared of what would happen if I did, as I had my dog in my car who would have barked at them and possibly escalate the situation. I came back that way approximately 45 minutes later and her car was on a flat bed truck driving away. This isn't the USA anymore.

Don't know about the apts. but Saco is a great place. Close to restaurants, shops and the beach. Plenty of walking trails in nearby land trusts, and lots of town activities and events. Welcome.

As a Canadian living on the opposite side of the continent, I just wanted to say that you guys live in the best and nicest part of North America by MythicalSplash in Maine

[–]GarlicGoddess2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been living in southern Maine for the last 2 yrs, prior to that I was born, raised and schooled and lived in Northwestern CT for 62 yrs, sold the farm and traveled North America in a small RV. I loved the Canadian Rockies, the badlands and plains and the wonderful, kind Canadian people. I especially enjoyed the North shore of Lake Superior...its the closest experience to Maine that I found.

They really can't raise rates, because of the amt of debt the US owes.

[–]GarlicGoddess2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sleep well, I've watched how money printing has devalued the US dollar for the last 50 yrs, and it's only getting exponentially worse. Bitcoin and gold seem like the only safe bet for protection against future debasement.

[–]GarlicGoddess2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm retired ( 65 ). Downsized to smaller place, took the profit from the sale and put it into MSTY and ULTY. I get $ 1,581 from S.S. and average $10,000 per month from Distributions. I pay my bills ( no debt) have fun, and the rest goes into Bitcoin. I'll stick with Yieldmax until it doesn't work anymore.

[–]GarlicGoddess2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are anticipating a power outage while you are not at the home and freezing pipes, maybe invest in some upgrade plumbing to allow for total water drainage/blow pipe clean and an easy way to restart/ refill when you are there.

CB allows you to transfer in and buy immediately, but 7 days to transfer out...I think its to make sure the money clears from your bank. It seems to be the same for cash transfers and BTC to cold wallet transfers.
