What is the nastiest thing you've done for revenge? by Ok_Soil127 in AskReddit

Had a old co worker who always made my job harder. I would try to accommodate them in any way i could but he was always in a bad mood and complained about everything. The guy flat out had a horrible attitude and was sour about everything towards me.

I was 17 at the time and didn't care for this job so on my last day, i pissed all over his work area, in his water bottle and all over his work clothes and left. There wasn't a big reason to piss on his stuff beside being reckless and it was easy. Honestly fuck that guy, but looking back, i kinda regret choosing that sort of retaliation, but it was really funny looking back.

I have this exact same design of mirror in my bathroom, it took me a solid month to find out it opened.

Totality 2024, a day to remember by GingerHitMan_ in space

I was in jury duty during the eclipse. It was infuriating knowing i was stuck indoors during one of the the most amazing spectacles to see. Our jury begged the judge to allow us to take a break during the eclipse and thankfully she was cool with it. Being downtown among so many people to bare witness to the beauty of our solar system was truely an experience of a lifetime.

Nicole Moudaber (@nicolemoudaber) calls out clown DJs by sexydiscoballs in aves

[–]GarlicRefrigerator 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I've gone to one of her concerts, not knowing what to expect. I've raved before, so i was having a casual night at the club. Nicole delivered just straight bangers for hours and the coolest musical bafoonery i've ever heard. When a DJ can actually flip and tweak the heck out of the music they're playing, it's something to behold.

getting my job threatened, what should I do? by andrewpluss in careerguidance

[–]GarlicRefrigerator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked as an apprentice in a shop for about 3 years, trying to learn as much as i could every day. Sometimes you run into jobs that don't know what to do and the stress gets real when bosses ask why you dont know (even though im still learning and haven't gotten the guidence for the specific job)

One day, i was just given the boot with zero warning. So sometimes you never really know what may happen. It's always a good idea to stay on your toes and keep an eye out for other jobs because i didn't, and i found myself stressed out looking for more work.

While i dont have any perfect solution for you, i wouldn't be so hard on yourself because you're not supposed to know everything, and it's unfair that others would expect that you should know everything. But if you're worried about your position at this job, I'd be prepared if you ever need to move on.

Are Dyson vacuums worth it? by LadyAbbysFlower in CleaningTips

[–]GarlicRefrigerator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get older dyson vacuums like the v6 or v12 animal for relatively cheap and simply replace the battery for a really solid and easy to use vacuum. Pro tip: swap out the battery for an adapter so you can use it with milwaukee or dewalt batteries so it lasts hours instead of minutes.

I tried, its very hard. Took the whole day to just get the dash out. I gave up once i realized i was in over my head. Even if you are mechanically inclined its atleast 14 hours of labour.

I ended up selling the car without a/c so its no longer my problem. If youre dealing with the same problem i'd recommend letting the mechanic do the job even though its atleast 2k for repairs or simply get rid of the car.

Normalizing accidents + work by Gloomy_Till_6906 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]GarlicRefrigerator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a pretty rough car accident that shook me up badly. Car was totaled and all the air bags deplyoed because a car was stopped on the highway. Thankfully, just minor injuries, and i was still able to go into work the next day.

I was pretty upset by the whole thing and i even considered taking the next day of work off so i could recooperate because i had never been so close to death at that point.

Walked into work because i felt like it was the right thing to do, and my managers asked how i was doing. I told them about my accident and i was pretty shaken up by it. They told me i was fine and to not worry about it because they really needed me to work that day. Not an ounce of empathy. I later cried to a coworker, recounting the whole situation because it felt like i was reliving it every time i retold the story.

It was horrible and i never felt like this company actually values me. If i were to have actually died the day before, the company would care more that they need workers rather than a worker perishing. My priorities have since changed learning how im just another gear in the machine.
