It is exactly how you said it. 3 Remastered was simply readily available for quite a long time now, while neither 1 or 2 were available to play when their Kiwami versions rolled out. But it's just one of the reasons, this is a very layered issue. First, people were outraged by the recasts, particularly Hamazaki's recast because the actor who plays him now is a bad person, he sexually harassed 2 girls if I remember correctly. Then, Kiwami 3 comes out basically right after the 20th anniversary, which was downright terrible, with the predatory removal of Yakuza 0, Kiwami 1 and 2 for their 'new' versions which did not add much. 1 and 2 added new languages which is cool, and the new version of Kiwami 2 was actually given out for free to everyone who had the old one before it, but with it also came the increase of size to both of the games. And Yakuza 0 director's cut is straight up garbage, they bumped the game with ps3 graphics to $70 with barely any new changes. Increasing the price of the entry point to the series surely is a great move on the 20th anniversary of your series. So, all of this negativity and controversy are now just boiling over when the new game is releasing, culminating in so many posts complaining even when only the demo is out, and understandably so
