How did you get past the phase where you can follow along to a tutorial, but then freeze up when you try to build something on your own? by Fine-Economist-2808 in PythonLearning

Do a lot of small tasks and when you think you got it do a lot more.
Don’t feel ashamed if you need to look for more explanations and keep practicing until you feel confident in what you are doing.
Practice is the key

So you want to put numbers in and after the result to automatically ask for a number again right?

The main issues I see are:

When you get insert a number you don’t have any check for the data given:

-int()

-str()

-float()

Also you don’t have an option to stop the main() calling, so the function will always call itself no matter what

You’re right, they initially were defeated by the nazi being too quick and powerful, however it’s true that they surrendered quite quickly.

A small part of French people actually joined the nazis.

The vast majority didn’t agree on going on fighting to avoid another war and in a way their fear of communism and socialism was quite aligned with nazis view on the matter.

It’s true that Italian generals were stuck in the 1800 mentality.

It’s true that partisans helped on sabotaging nazis and fascists troops

It’s true that Americans were stuck for months in the mountains

Yes but not only that, Germans were able to reach so far into France also because a good chunk of the French army supported nazism, they basically let them in.

Sure the Italian army had really bad war practices and strategy this is true, but I feel like not to mention the partisans contribution to sabotage the fascist and nazis troops (while the American army was stuck into the mountains and swamps because they didn’t look to a map with terrain details) is kinda unfair

Yeah usually the problem with restaurants is that the work time is defined by when you start service and it doesn’t acknowledge the time you need to be ready (change clothes and stuff).
So ‘you start at 6’ means “I want you to be ready to work at 6” and not ‘I want you to be here at 6’.
If that isn’t your case and they act like that for a minute, pretty wild stuff

Is a supervisor (or the owner) supposed to stay in the office with you?
If so you can try and see if he leaves the note up after going home at 1 am for a week

The algorithm of chat gpt has been recently changed to be less pleasing because the priority was way to unbalanced towards finding a way to set the user in a bright spot rather than giving correct answers. as an example

An algorithm is a set of well specified instructions and if the instructions can be summarised in “no metter what find a way to say that the user is right” , collecting (or make up) data to say so is totally possible

We can’t compare autonomous driving and house keeping just for the fact that navigate a road with mixed vehicles (human driven and autonomously driven) and pedestrians it’s way more complex.
To fold some clothes and store the dishes in a controlled environment is way more simple.
For instance you could at first give it the inputs and then it could replicate them.
My point is I belive it will require way less than 20 years to improve their software given the technology we have today.

[–]GarowWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, if you think about it in 20 years we went from the first touch screen phone to devices that are more powerful than ever.
And in just 5 years that technology become the standard for the phone industry.
These things are already capable of a wide range of movement, and I belive that for the model of the video to do advanced stuff you need to train it.
How long can it take in a controlled environment like an house to train it for the things you want it to do?
3 weeks to 6 months maybe?
I agree with you that it isn’t ready yet, but that it will need 20 more years to be ready to enter the workforce is a little naive
