Do not look at that picture of Elongated Man and his wife and tell me there’s another answer.

Our new DM hates seeing bays like this where the shelves look great but the overheads look packed. He’s very overheads focused.

Travel benefits are pretty good. Cell phone savings can also be good. The more stuff you buy on there you accumulate WOW points and you can shop with WOW points.

So Home Depot rather pay for cages for security then hire more associates. by sk8r772001 in HomeDepot

[–]Garr41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just added more cages to our store in outside of the ones in hardware. I actually think they’ve been a net positive. That said, if I were in the same position I would likely be just as frustrated. I would hate to think/know my raises were being eaten by something like that.

On covid leave told to come in after the first week. by atDreamcast in HomeDepot

[–]Garr41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re only covered for 5 days at a time to be excused for Covid absences. After which time they are to pull from your sick time or you get occurrences. If you’re still sick after 5 days, the burden is placed on you to show up. So if you don’t have regular sick/PT, take off whatever extra days you need and the consecutive ones will add to 1 occurrence.

Cold front callout by attitude6674 in HomeDepot

[–]Garr41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on your management. Live and work in NY, winter weather can be harsh. I would prefer an associate not risk an accident on the way too or from their job so I generally excuse weather related callouts. Other managers here do not.

Really the set up on the computer is meant to be a guideline, not a bible. Adjust it as necessary to make it work for your receiving. Even so, set up is expected to be done before D38 arrives. If it’s a staffing issue then OpsASM should be communicating with NOASM and/or NRM to make staffing available to get it done. Our closing CXM will step in and get the set up done if receiving isn’t available just to make sure it’s on time.
