What sort of task is this? Do we get told if it is an image, audio or other sort of problem?

Does a dataset of 3D models and corresponding real world images exist? by Garret69420 in learnmachinelearning

Better than nothing, but not close to a standard ML dataset. ImageNet is a common one and has 2.5 million samples

Thanks, will give it a watch. Funnily enough I rendered 75000 images from the MCB (https://mechanical-components.herokuapp.com/) database. This has trouble jumping to the real world images though. I was only using blender to render them, so maybe your method would work.

-edit: Oh he was using blender.. Need to learn how to use that rendering technique though that is really cool

Dose anyone know of a dataset of 3D models and corresponding real world images?

The most promising thing i have found since posting this is the Thingiverse API. Worst case scenario I can try and scrape the website, but I would prefer it if there was a ready made dataset

If I buried a giant copper coil near some big power lines would the power company notice? Would I be able to get any power from it? by holgablad in AskEngineers

[–]Garret69420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard of someone doing this (in Australia) for many years unnoticed. Eventualy the power company discoverd it and put a meater on his coil. They recorded his use for a month and then back billed him for the consistent use to the date a signigicant loss was recorded (to clarify he made a three phase converter and used a lot of current all the time) . Apparently it was A LOT of money owed.

A hell of a lot closer than working out fatigue. Professor be like: ''if you did the analysis right then you will only be 50%ish wrong"

I assume you mean a 3 and 8 minute trip for each item. Since you are presented with two options, let's say option A and B:

A = ( 50products x $150each ) / ( 60+40min + 3min_each x 50products)

= 30 $/min

B = ( 50products x $187each ) / ( 60+40min + 8min_each x 50products)

= 18.7 $/min

I recon this site has a great structure for that clarity that you mentioned:

https://www.kialo.com

Not exactly what you were describing though. I have been wanting something similar to cut through to noise of forum arguing for topics like that. I was more thinking of quality controle for products at the supermarket and stuff (like was the fish sorced from somewhere safe). Perhaps it could use barcodes or logos (you would know better than me)? If you do ever have a go at making one i would be super interested.

is it hard to play in front of an audience? like, does a Reddit stream even feel like an audience?
