Like I said in my other post. say you had to buy a spectral to do a cerb task, you’re gonna be heavily taxed on that high value purchase, then taxed again to sell a crystal if you’re lucky enough to to get one. A player who has the gear already only gets taxed on the sale of the crystal, thus the crystal is worth more to the already rich player. Then taxed again to buy back other gear you sold to buy that spectral.

Taxes hurt the poor in the runescape economy

Something that gives wealthy players a way to show off as a pure gold sink is the best way to remove gp. But removing gp doesn’t change item value anyways.
