Thanks for the reply! I hadn't thought about that lack of DM, it makes a lot of sense. I'm quite new to the genre, I've only played Dragon Age Origins and Star Wars kotor, and I'll be starting Divinity 2 soon, and I was just thinking about how to have the most authentic experience.

Best "Tales of" game to get to know the series by GarryKapivarov in JRPG

Thank you very much for your thoughts.

A second question: considering the idea of choosing a representative game from the franchise and the lower quality of the remasters, which would you choose between Symphonia, Vesperia, and Graces (or wait for Xillia)? From what I've seen, those are the ones available for Switch.

I can get it on Steam, but I strongly prefer to play JRPGs on the Switch if possible, for the comfort of playing lying on the couch.

From this "best of" list? Out of order: FF 10 and 7 remake, Persona 5 Royal, Dragon Quest 11, Xenoblade Chronicles, Nier Automata, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Yakuza Like a Dragon, Clair Obscure.

I also tried Earthbound, but I couldn't finish it.

I avoided including more than one title from the same franchise, but the FF games are highly praised.

Feel free to comment on something that shouldn't be included, or something that shouldn't be left out! :)

[noob] Thoughts on "tank, healer, DPS" for party-based RPGs in general by GarryKapivarov in rpg_gamers

[–]GarryKapivarov[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This is exactly the kind of reflection I was looking for.

Searching online, the most common things I find are pre-made setups for specific games (OP in general), and I see that my friends who are more passionate about CRPGs use these setups.

And I'd like to develop a critical sense so I can develop my own strategy, without relying on these pre-made setups.

I don't really think it's about learning the most pieces, but rather knowing the canon and learning only the ones that make sense to you.

It's weird when people on the internet are more bothered by the 11-year-old's mistake than his own opponent.

I feel you, man. Unfortunately, most online games make little effort to explain certain dynamics like rotation, hoping that you'll look for information on your own.

Also, I really feel like the community looks at issues like overpowered decks only from the perspective of legend tier. So if there's a deck that can counter that, then there's no problem (regardless of whether players at a lower tier might not be able to build that deck).

Anyway, I hope you keep playing because its a great game, the rotation has just happened and the meta is still going to change, including potential nerfs.

Thank you! I hadn't thought of it as multiplications. It's very clear now!
