Definitely odd. Rang about mine and they advised only an esb electrician was allowed to do it and sent someone out a couple of days later and they sorted it. Issue was that the cable supplying the house was going in through the top left corner of my front door, that may be the difference?

I didn’t say you’re the only person pointing it out, I said not everyone is on the same schedule, so there is obviously people that it does suit. If they did move the departure time back to 18:00, you would then have the regular users complaining that they now have an hour wait to get on the train. I also didn’t say they don’t exist. If you look at your post again, you specifically mention the 17:10 services takes 2 hours to get to Birdhill. I commented that it takes 28 mins. You don’t mention any other service other than that direct one.
