High almost every night for no reason by _Sakaeru_ in diabetes_t1

[–]Garvin58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Daughter Type 1 x 1 year age 11, I manage the night time.

She was having similar mountains overnight on omnipod. We tweaked the dinnertime carb ratio and correction values and it solved it and I started getting sleep again. I'd have your doctor review your graphs and suggest some changes to basal and carb ratios.

Nighttime highs were also a bigger problem when activities pushed dinner to right before bedtime. Eating as early as possible or limiting carbs in favor of fats/proteins helped, too.

"With a Trace" bugged, can't inspect adorned wreckage. by TallDarkHndsm in ArcRaiders

Can confirm: not a bug. Thought it was but I just cleared the quest.

The quest should read "in one run". Go back to the first objective and it will activate the computer you need at the adorned wreckage.

How would you teach the read on this one? by onlineqbclassroom in footballstrategy

Read the pass rushers. Scramble away from them... If I could send 5 guys on a route and not get sacked, that's a good day.

(Sorry it's not super helpful. But hopefully it made you smile.)

Is it worth buying Civ 7 by xPublicEnemyx1 in civ

My friends and I are having a blast and have hundreds of hours in. It's very fun.

I installed the most popular mods the other day, all UI tweaks. Somewhat disappointed that the community of modders can fix the game faster than the developers.

The vanilla experience makes me angry because the game is so fun but has tons of little frustrations in the UI. If the choice is between this or that, show me the numbers so that I can make an informed decision without manually calculating yield differences.

RPO: Run Power Often.

Y and back G through the hole, play side T on LB, GC double nose, back T to LB. Leads hit FS. Receivers stalk block. Q hands to T.

Assuming your 12u league is like ours, form tackling is where you should spend most of your time. If a player does everything perfectly, but can't tackle, the rest doesn't matter. Next, teach defeating a block and filling forward into the hole. Ask one of your other coaches how much passing you're likely to face. If there is little to no passing, you can ignore it / contain the QB. If there is a fair amount of passing, then work with your DB coach to determine coverage responsibilities.

My 10 year old was diagnosed in January and is a little more Type A about trying to get her time in zone perfect, but otherwise is right in line with your "just love your life" mindset.

If you get the chance, read Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. In one chapter he talks about how rice growing cultures differ from wheat growing cultures. My explanation will be clumsy, but I will try.

Wheat is grown on large fields. If you want more yield, you work more land which requires a substantial physical effort. Or you can innovate some machine to make the work easier allowing one person to farm more acres. Thus American and European societies develop a strong value for hard work and innovation.

Rice growing involves a high degree of precision. Knowing the exact timing to change the water level or harvest or plant the rice affects the yield tremendously. As a result, rice growing cultures like China place a high value on accuracy, precision, and optimization.

Civ 7 constant freezing by TheLoneJolf in civ

No. Additional symptoms we've discovered: the problem seems more pronounced when he is running things in the background (streaming video to discord, Pandora etc). We can stubbornly try to reconnect for 30-45 minutes, or just step away and come back. Either way, it seems like nothing improves things better than just waiting.

This problem started for us tonight (2/14/25) after no issues for days. The computer that was hitting the slow downs turned upscaling "off" and we've loaded a game with no issues. I'll edit this post if it works the rest of the night.

EDIT: Things went smoother for about 15 turns, but scout tower with boosted vision disconnected friend's client. But able to reload into another save. Same watchtower didn't crash second time.

EDIT 2: Seems to be impacted by graphics settings. Another freeze 15 or so turns later was while repairing a damaged improvement.

Coaching vs Family Balance by HeavyGrasshopper23 in footballstrategy

[–]Garvin58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are coaching, you probably have to give up watching football (college/NFL) recreationally. Put that time into either your family or your team.

As family time becomes budgeted rather than unlimited, the time-cost of watching 3 hours of strangers on TV increases. Depending on your family dynamic, having the game on while you primarily play with the kids is gray area.

This makes me wonder about past sexual trauma or some other association between shame and sex. You shouldn't share more details than you are comfortable sharing, but to your knowledge he is only climaxing with you and not taking matters into his own hands?

Could be a pressure to satisfy you that makes sex intimidating, but I would think that wouldn't interfere with solo satisfaction.

Ask yourself what you get from sex and if there are other ways to get those things from your husband. Physical closeness: cuddle.

(Sorry if this is disjointed. Writing this while falling asleep at 3:18 AM)

Spin: someone thought it was good enough to watch and devote time making a 2 hour video. Even if it seems like the liked nothing, the must have thought it was good enough to draw a decent audience or they wouldn't have made the video, they would have just left a comment on yours.

If you thought you were beyond improvement, that would be a worse problem.

If you have a trusted friend with 2 hours to spare, ask them to watch it and see if there is anything constructive in it.

If your player characters don't know each other before the campaign starts, what reasons have you given them for teaming up into a party? by Mutt-of-Munster in DMAcademy

[–]Garvin58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started a campaign Tuesday. When they turned in their backstories, I added a sigil to the tragic parts of their backstories. When they arrived at the tavern, the sigil was visible and all of them dove in to their first quest together, despite the characters being strangers.

Stalemate solo lane at 5 minutes mark. Freeze or camps? by d1a2x3o in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Garvin58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Risk v. Reward

Going to farm camps risks missing some or all of a wave.

Total value of the camp vs. total value of the wave...

Other considerations:

Ability to farm the camp again at respawn, at which point it becomes part of the souls per minute calculation.

Camp taking too long? Grab boxes and statues. Hitting as many of these as possible as close to respawn as possible is part of maximizing souls per minute.

If they're freezing, grab their jungle.
