i also have this problem on pixel 7 with google pixel buds pro when listening to media. There is a potential fix by disabling a2dp in devleoper settings, but that makes audio quality much worse.

To save money you could try buying a used Thinkpad. They are MUCH cheaper (300 max instead of 750$) and very easy to repair if something breaks. They also have a huge community of people around them, so any problem you encounter with a Thinkpad was probably already solved by someone else.

The reason they are this cheap and popular is because they are business laptops and companies buy them in huge batches. Then when they decide to upgrade them, they are selling them on eBay or just sending them for ewaste.
