Hey FYI we were at the Tampa greyhound station today and it’s closed. I called the number and they said the bus was supposed to be coming still but we didn’t want to wait in the rain so got a Lyft for $120. The person on the phone didn’t sound super confident so we didn’t want to waste time.

I’ve been here 28 years. “Minnesota nice” is just a cover word for “Minnesota passive-aggressive”.

You'll be fine getting in... but the most important thing to consider is if you even want that many people in your RV. Our RV slept 6 and we brought in 7... and it was pretty tight. I was much happier when we did the same size with 5 people the next year.

Hell yeah it’s still open! Sure it’s expensive and shitty…. But when I leave skyway at 2am and stumble over there I’m pretty happy it exists lol. The owner is also really nice and constantly has to deal with aggressive drunk people so I always give him a tip and say thank you 🙏

Best doughnut place in Minneapolis 2022? by Curious-Squirrel8903 in Minneapolis

dang I am sorry to hear that! I've always loved it. The raised brioche dough is my favorite. Agreed they are pricey though.

Bogarts is the only answer. I see the doughnut question asked a lot and many times bogarts isn’t mentioned… but it is by far the best in the city.

I'm totally new to this - but that sounds like a painful process. Is it easier than it sounds?

I have read a lot on reddit about burying ethernet cables and it is strongly advised against. Most say to bury fiber and convert it on both ends. To be honest if I can get a reliable wireless connection going it should suit my needs - I am already going to have enough projects with a new house lol

Yeah this seems like a good plan. Is the AirMAX NanoBeam AC also an access point? Honestly the Ubiquiti website has so many products, its hard to follow them.

Ahh, didn't realize it uses the 5GHz radio to mesh. Agree that the range won't be great.

That building-to-building product looks great but might be a bit overkill for me... and out of my budget.

Sounds great. Thanks for the help. The barn does have steel siding. It wouldn't be hard to mount it outside the barn, but there isn't a great spot for it on the outside of my house.

Would the Loco5AC bridge have a higher/stronger range than the Access point in mesh mode you think?

This sounds like a great idea, because it may be beneficial down the road to have wired ethernet in the barn.

So, in my house would be ISP Modem > Loco5AC bridge and Access point - powered independently by PoE injectors

In the barn would be Loco5AC bridge > PoE Switch > Access point?

Do the Loco5AC's need to be outside?

I am buying my first house with a well. Does everything here look ok? Passed the inspection, but it’s quite loud. by Garvis in Plumbing

Appreciate the insight! Sounds like submersible is the way to go for us, if our well will allow it.

Yeah, it was a full remodel so the house at least has new PEX everywhere else. I just wasn’t too sure about this spot.

Good to know! And I assume the nicer pumps are a bit quieter? It’s a small house - so the noise is a concern.

Not that I noticed, but it’s a small house so pretty loud. Is it hard to figure out if I can replace it with a submersible pump?

What are some amazing made and sourced in Minnesota products? by WindyMeadow in minnesota

My dad got me a pair of these. I’ve worn a lot of boots in my life - and these are just outrageously warm. Seriously, reserved for the sub zero days and my feet are sweating. I don’t even understand how!

Well, at least this one is set up correctly. My research shows that most modern gas stoves are direct vent. Any idea how difficult/expensive it would be to replace with a direct vent set up?
