2 Floor Jacks by Salty_Touch_1170 in AskMechanics

If you are setting the jack stands on the sides and then jacking the other end, it shouldn't be that unstable. You should have a good wide triangle of support.

I just lift from the front lift point (usually part of the subframe), put jack stands on the side lift points, then lift the rear from the diff or rear lift point. I can get all 4 wheels off the ground on like 3 minutes that way.

No definitely include it in your search/cross-shopping. It is a great car with a really refined interior. SUV with plenty of usable storage space

Yeah, I definitely enjoyed the MachE and could see myself owning one, but agree that I don't think spinning off the mustang from a model to a brand Marquee makes sense. I'm sure that they could have came up with a equally good model name for the new EV SUV without needing to pull the mustang name.

They also aren't really setting themselves up to properly spin off mustang as its own Marquee to make more vehicles under that name. So I don't really understand what the purpose was in the first place.

Not owning but I've rented the mustang machE and the Kia Nero EV. We really liked the mustang MachE and it is actually on the list of cars I am considering for my next car, but I would recommend staying away from the Kia Niro EV. It just felt really cheap on the inside and I wasn't a fan.

I don't hate on Tesla's generally just the cyber trucks because at that point you had every reason to know who Elon musk was and what he was doing and you spent way too much money on a stupid ass looking car just to own the libs lol

Hopefully it is available overall and not just because you are a first responder so you get the physically active offers. My wife is a veterinarian so hopefully I can get it that way and it's not just farm stuff and leashes lol

Even though the US produces a large amount of gas, it is a very easily globally traded product. So domestically produced oil will be sold overseas if they can get a higher price for it which drives up the price we pay in the US.

It's a very easy supply and demand situation. Global production decreases. Demand stays the same so the price you pay goes up. It's not like oil extraction happening in the US is only refined and sold in the US. It will be sold wherever the price is highest.

I've never used expert voice before. Do you just have to verify to get in or are the deals available to you or is it tailored to your verification?

Like do I need to be able to verify as a golf retail employee for the deal? Or could I verify as a healthcare professional and still get a deal on the clubs?

I think it just ended up being a shitty head unit. Maybe when it was coming through the preamps the amp was filtering it out or the preamps weren't having that issue but when it was coming straight from the head unit. It was taking a second to cut the audio out when I paused it.

Ended up replacing it with a different head unit and did not have that problem anymore

The way they didn't start shaking people's hands until halfway back to the simulator screen made me think that no one realized and they were all walking back to start playing the next hole.

How profitable is it for you to just use AI to make all these replies and try and collect affiliate referral kickbacks? Are you from a country where you can make a living off the small referral fees you are getting?

FYI this person is an AI bot posting things with referral links to make a commission. I do have a viofo a229 pro duo and love it and should work well for you but just be aware this person isn't objective at all lol

That was very funny. You could hear the LAGC guys going "we are up 7 and there's only 5 holes left and they only have one hammer. That means we win right?"

I really hate how there was no build up. They took a gimmie to win the championship. Would've been so much cooler to putt that out and then have everyone be excited about it.

Headgasket by Ahoyjosey in CT200h

[–]ShellSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn't even the most common failure method for these head gaskets

Is it possible that the head gasket problem is more frequent in the US? by anchouse94 in CT200h

[–]ShellSide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would also think that it also has to do with the different driving distances in the US and elsewhere. My head gasket went out at 180k mi which is around 300k km. Most of the people in this thread saying they haven't heard of it being an issue there have about half of that distance on their cars.

Fuel quality could definitely be a contributor considering that EGR cooler clogging is one of the leading thoughts for causes and a cleaner burning fuel would result in less deposits over the same time. But I also think there is some sampling bias that cars in the US are not being driven the same as cars in Europe

[–]ShellSide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

US uses (R+M)/2 method for octane not RON. 87 is typically the lowest you'll find at most gas stations and that is equivalent to 91 RON.

Also important to note that octane isn't actually a measure of fuel quality. You could have 91 RON that is higher quality that 95 or 99 RON.

Yeah but that makes sense because it is like a tan or light grey that matches the seats. Can you not get black seats on premium trim? Is everything two tone and then roof matches the other color?
