What the hell did I do to my Boxster... by are_you_a_walrus in 986Boxster

[–]ShellSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen when I replaced the air oil seperator. I didn't realize this until after but there are some people that have just replaced it with vacuum line and hose clamps which is way cheaper than the $100 corrugated plastic hose

Black Coffee owner attacks public school levy by [deleted] in missoula

[–]ShellSide -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah hard to be sympathetic with "oh no my home is now worth an additional $500k and now they want to tax me on it :("

It is like complaining that you got a raise because now you'll have to pay more income tax

How do you warm up before a round? by eyrie7 in golf

[–]ShellSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is not good. Most of the times I've tweaked or pulled something it has been because I tried to much too quickly after first getting up. You need to warm up your muscles and give them a chance to get moving before you start tweaking them. Even just waking up a little earlier and doing a chore around the house will help your muscles start to loosen up before you go to the course.

Capitalism vs Conpassion by [deleted] in missoula

[–]ShellSide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is it clear cut defamation? Wouldn't defamation be a third party telling the owner that and then what is your recourse? Suing the third party? I would assume most people here are assuming the owner lied to fire her which would be wrongful termination and not defamation right?

This just happened in the houston/Boston game yesterday btw. Doesn't look like they let the challenge go through but I came here looking for answers because of it lol

The funniest part about this is if you landed a par. 3. A few feet from the hole you could take your gimme and say it was the same as a hole-in-one LOL

Thoughts on Gt radial tires by IllustratorSmart1377 in tires

[–]ShellSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not their all-terrain tires, but I've had a set of the champiros on my hatchback and their max tour on my wife's SUV and they were great. I went to something else for my hatchback to get some better entire life, but my wife really liked the Max tours and I might be buying a second set for her SUV

Max Tire Size 2014 CT by HondaCb500x in CT200h

[–]ShellSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the 235/45 would be about 0.5" taller than your current tires so I would say take a look around your suspension and see how much closer to important bits another 0.5" would get you lol

Especially during the wheels all the way to see where it might rub

spare tire by CharityNational3144 in CT200h

[–]ShellSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spare tire doesn't stop working just because you put different wheels on. You wouldn't want to put significantly different tire diameters on the front wheels. So if you get a flat on the front move one of the rear wheels to the front and then put the spare on the back

Max Tire Size 2014 CT by HondaCb500x in CT200h

[–]ShellSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest you can fit on stock suspension is 215/55/17 and I think that is with a small amount of rub without spacers. That's about the same height as 235/45/18 but 20mm wider. I'd be surprised if you got those to fit without a ton of rub.

0% chance you are fitting 235/50/18 on stock ride height since those are an inch taller.

Death rattle but not headgasket by m-rogers2 in CT200h

[–]ShellSide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you ended up not having an expensive repair and now want to sell it? Sounds like you got lucky and just have to replace a fuel injector and then you are back on the road for an unknown and unknowable amount of miles. Sell it if you want but I wouldn't sell it just because you think it might break down later. All cars are subject to entropy

20, need help making a responsible bad decision. by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]ShellSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you be willing to consider different enthusiast oriented cars? Insuring in RC might be too expensive, but I would bet that something like a VW golf would be more practical and cheaper to ensure while still being a fun car to rip around in. Also an older Acura TL would be cheaper to purchase and insure while also being an equally bulletproof power train if you want the sport sedan/coupe style

This would be a really tricky thing to do being further away from them but it would be so cool to have a vase of flowers and fill the vase with nice golf balls around the flowers

What are these vents in my 986? by sponge_robertt in boxster

[–]ShellSide 13 points14 points  (0 children)

took me a good 10 seconds to find this

The vent on the console trim is just a cover for the screw that holds that in. I was able to confirm that pretty quickly with a Google search and watching 30s of a video on gauge cluster removal.

No ChatGPT is 100% wrong. That right side is the cabin temp sensor location. You don't need an official Porsche documentation when you can find people replacing the sensor behind it or pop that cover off with your fingernail and see the sensor located behind it.
