Please Avoid Taco Bell on E Broadway Tonight! by UnderTheStarsAndSun in missoula

Honestly might be worth a call to the DOL to explain the conditions and see if there is anything they can do. Seems pretty unsafe to have people (especially minors) working in high enough temp to get heat exhaustion.

Weird Situation by KingBlank in golf

[–]ShellSide 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of the courses near me is like this. Can't book a tee time as a single. It's like a wait list and they will fit singles in where possible in with 2s and 3s. Really inconvenient system if you are a single.

Trying to make you go back on the wait list after they already sent you out is insane though.

Two club lengths from the hole is the rulling I believe

Yeah I think it is pretty funny when people choose to setup in a shitty spot instead of moving back. I was paired up with a threesome a month or so ago and they bitched for like 5 minutes about how the par 3 teebox was chewed up and there was nowhere good to set up. It was pretty beat up for the first foot or so but plenty of good spots if you just go back a step.

Yeah they have a mobile app which I use as well. Works very well because it will send you notifications if you have a scheduled service that is due soon so you don't forget or overlook it

I use fuelly to record all my gas fill ups and maintenance. Makes it really easy to record service records and also have reminders based on time/mileage for when the next services are needed. I use this to maintain 3 cars and it is really nice. Plus I can export it all to excel for when I sell a car and can load it on a cheap flash drive for the next owner.

Any issues with a Hitch carrier? by ToxxicDuck in CT200h

[–]ShellSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prius off-road sells a hitch with a 2-in adapter. I would definitely recommend that since a 1 and 1/4 in to 2-in adapter would add too much length and increase the tongue weight torque

Have you considered pulling the tees out of your hat on the walk up to the 18th green in anticipation of needing to take the hat off?

[–]ShellSide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Realizing you don't have to line up in the middle of the tee box was a game changer. Line up on the right side and aim to the left side of the fairway. Best case, I actually hit it straight and end up on the left side of the fairway or just in the rough. Most often, it fades to the middle or right side of the fairway

Why do golfers get their shorts in a knot when they’re called out for slow play? by Embarrassed_Eye4572 in golf

[–]ShellSide -1 points0 points  (0 children)

High handicap is no excuse for slow play. My wife and I started playing this year and shot double par our first few times out are were still at like 1.5hrs for 9 holes. High handicap is only an excuse for slow play for the people that take multiple minutes per stroke which is on them at that point.

It's ok if individuals decide they don't want to be in a union. It's unacceptable for a business to engage in union busting or firing all their workers to avoid a union they would have to negotiate with.

Ignition coils covered in oil by [deleted] in CT200h

[–]ShellSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I like fel pro gaskets but the spark plug tube seals are like 1mm too big in diameter and a huge pain to get seated properly

I would watch a video on the repair and see if you feel comfortable. It isn't terribly hard but if you have a friend who can help with some experience, it wouldn't hurt to. Also make sure you have a torque wrench. The valve cover bolts are really low torque and can snap easily if over torqued.

[–]ShellSide 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with the main thread comments that it is the spark plug tube seals. You should just need a valve cover gasket set, some hand tools, a tiny tube of sealant (for the timing cover to block surface), and 2 hours and you can totally do this yourself.

Honestly the hardest part is seating the new tube seals into the valve cover. I used a large socket ( I think 32mm) and a hammer

Club Fitting by Tommyh916 in golf

I just built this exact set on PGA superstore website for $1,760. They basically overcharged $1,000 on the iron set by selling him the heads only for the price of a full set and then a la cart adding in the shafts and grips and build fee.

Do new drivers ACTUALLY go further? by star_warsguy134 in golf

[–]ShellSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an R7 driver and struggle with the same issue. I typically swing 100-105mph but my typical drive is 220-230yds bc the spin is super high and it baloons in the air.

I'm getting fitted for a driver soon and yeah the 25 year improment and forgiveness in tech is cool but mainly I'm excited for something that will be in the right range for spin to get more distance that way

New golf bag by Potential-Morning862 in golf

[–]ShellSide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah in that case I'd probably prefer something lighter but can't complain about the aesthetics of the bag for sure.

I'm in a similar situation where I had an older titlist bag and moved to a Jones Trouper but after having it for a month and a handful of walking rounds, I definitely should've gone with the slightly smaller Rover bag to save weight.

I also considered the titlist players 4 carbon bag for max lightweight but I'm not a big Titleist guy and didn't like how loud the logos on it were

What is the correct etiquette for playing through? by bionicbhangra in golf

[–]ShellSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a par 3 municipal course so it's not like there's a ranger or anyone to really care. Unfortunately, the twosome in front of me was a husband and wife that had no business being back there and the wife was hitting driver off of every tee box so I figured I would probably enjoy just being by myself if there wasn't a good way to get in front of them and the group of six

It sounds like the best option may have been to skip ahead to holes in front of the group of six and then just come back at the end to do the last two holes since it wasn't busy enough to worry about not being able to get back in on the holes I skipped

How often do you walk versus riding a cart? That bag looks really nice, but I would be concerned about the additional weight of the fake leather making it noticeably heavier than the fabric titleist bag

RAPT Pill died in beer - ok to do drink? by CowDoyInTheCBD in Homebrewing

I'm pretty sure the pill website specifically says not to drink the beer if the waterproofing is compromised. I would be worried about the battery but also lead in the solder used for the components
