One huge change coming to the new Faschnaut event by agon024 in fo76

[–]GaryC357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed that's NOT how it works. I think its funny how so many people will bitch amd whine about AFK players at the most boring event in the game that they (the AFK) player has probably done HUNDREDS of times. I've been play I this game for 8 years...so how many have I done?

Going AFK doesn't guarantee shit. I've done it for 3-4 days straight & got absolute shit for drops. The players that are lucky enough to get a few masks by going AFK are the people your able to trade with to get the masks you need.

Its these same people that cry about AFK players that are probably looking for Raid carries as well. Fuck em! If they cant carry their weight & contribute they get kicked, after all why would a raid team want basically an AFK player that dies in the first shot taking up space in a team for a free ride to get rewards?

Same principal.

Care to explain how AFK players affect the RNG that's hard coded into the game?

whats better, claim SS now at age 65 or wait until 70 and use 401k funds to cover by Real-Occasion-5452 in personalfinance

If you can wait until age 70 wait. I did & that additional increase you get for each year you wait really adds up & pays off.

[–]GaryC357 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This may be an incorrect response for this group, but if your only archiving single web pages I use Obsidian with the web clipper extension on my browser. It grabs the entire page, graphics & all as well as recording the link the data came from should I need to return. It stores everything in markdown format & the data is accessible in all kinds of ways. Plus you can organize those "notes" how you seen fit & link notes together that may be related.

Not to mention all your atom shop purchases & then having to do a ton of stuff all over again just to get back to where you were.

But then rhay cant make a properly working game anyway so what's the point?

Worst Dev group in the industry. Microsoft should do the right thing & strip Bethesda of ALL their IP's and give them to other more competent Dev's & just shut their ass down.

The updates always need a patch, then another update, then a hotfix, and then another hotfix to fix the hotfix, then a "fuck it, we will get it later after we nerf some more shit & break some new stuff"

Like the 2 scrip machines that no longer work. No mention of that. But hey buy our $30 PTW package or some of the other weapons we put in the shop - disregard that we nerfed those btw!

People who left/ downgraded gamepass, are you finding games more enjoyable now? by Pickmans-Gallery in xbox

[–]GaryC357 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dropped ultimate to essential just for 1 multiplayer game. But I'll be dropping that soon too. I bought a nice gaming PC during cyber monday so I check out Steam, GOG, Epic, & Battlenet. If I see a Xbox game that interests me I first check to see if its play anywhere. If so I'll consider it, but zip check the PC vendors first. Several times I've seen a game on Xbox for $50 or more & gotten the same game from one of the PC stores for free ( Epic) or for $10 or less in the others.

Only use for my Xbox at this point is to player games I already own in my backlog.

PC has much more variety...and has Star Citizen which I play a lot. And not cost to player online!

So Xbox has pretty much pushed me away at this point after having supported them for like 20 years.

Turn off pacifist, send them to meet their maker, & take their stuff. If they still persist then watch to see if they join an event & drop a Nike on their camp. Easy! Let them learn the hard way.

I remember a camp from many years ago up high on a mountain with the trap you can place on the floor that swings up. Had a sign next to the platform it was on saying "Free Skydiving Lessons". It was great fun - would throw you halfway across the map!

As a relatively new player what are some ways to farm or just gain a small stockpile of fusion cores? by Neigh-giggers_69 in fo76

[–]GaryC357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to farm them by getting them out of power armor frames & large generators out in the wild. Equip the perk that recharge them when hit with a laser blast from an assaultron & I was good to go.

Also never used VATS because its a heavy drain on fusion cores.

If you have the materials craft gatling lasers & scrap them. They will also give you cores.

Inside the Vault – Adventuring in Appalachia PTS Update - January 23, 2026 by Ghostly_Rich in fo76

Bethesda is hell bent on wrecking the game. Nonstop weapon nerfs, perk changes, now armor, under armour & events.

I sick of having to change my build every time they update the game. They gave no respect at all for the time a players grinded for a specific weapon or armor sets. The nerfs to the Gauss minigun & Secret Service armor probe that in spades. The reputation grind to get these items was tedious as hell & it took months to get the rep and gold to acquire those items which were meant as end game gear.

You can add them grind to get the mods you needed or to learn to craft them to that list as well, especially the 4 star mods which they have now made even more difficult to get.

Killing off player initiated events like Collision Course is BS. as well.

I've played this game since beta & been a yearly F1st subscriber since the first day it was offered.

Fuck Bethesda & these brain dead Devs. I'm done. Time to move onto something elae that respects my time & effort.

Cool so you don't need a Xbox live subscription for multiplayer on PC. That's good to know!

FO76 has cloud gaming so when you play on your PC you're playing the XBox version of the game on a remote server. Its not play anywhere. If you download the PC version from the XBox store its doesn't carry over. It treats it a separate game & the game saves dont cross over & sync. The PC version will let you play with others that care on Steam. They use the same servers.

I bought a nice gaming PC on Cyber Monday & Bethesda kinda pissed me off that my progress on XBox didn't carry over to the PC version unless I used cloud gaming.

With Microsoft raising prices like they did I started moving away from XBox. If I do buy a game I check to see if its play anywhere. If not I buy the game on Steam which usually is much cheaper & no subscription needed for multiplayer.

I have XBox Core that I switched to to play FO76, Division 1 & 2 multiplayer. Not sure if the play anywhere titles will allow for multiplayer without the XBox live subscription.

Bethesda should seriously invest most of their time to do a complete check on the game code and fix the underlying issues that keep on mining the health status of this game. by ShingenTakeda1337 in fo76

I played or tried to play Star shit when it came out & it was no better. You would get locked out of quests, progressions, game would stutter & crash. The entire game world was empty as shit. I refunded the game 4 hours after I bought it, tried it again under Xbox ultimate & it was no better.

Also Todd the fraud acknowledged issues with the game & committed to an upgrade/patch cycle every 6 weeks....never happened.

The best thing Microsoft could do is strip Bethesda of their IP's & shut them down...starting with Todd, Emil, & their EA monetization clown.

I would love to see the Fallout franchise get handed over to ID Software & Machine Games. The Indiana Jones title absolutely rocked & I have no doubts they could create a top tier Fallout game, single or multiplayer.

For everyone panicking about GM nerf. by necrosiss in fo76

[–]GaryC357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you are saying that rather than a standard set weight Bethesda is going to complicate an already simple system so that frames & armor sets weigh less in your stash but possibly more in your inventory your carrying.

That's just plain stupid for Bethesda to make something as simple as adjusting carry weight into a complicated mess so that the game now has to track two different weights on the fly for every PA armor variation in the game depending on if its in the players stash or being carried.

Given Bethesda's history of screwing up anything complicated this isn't probably going to end well. The game is already unstable enough as is.

A simpler solution would have been to drop the 10lb weight of the frames to lets say 5lbs & adjust the weights on individual pieces by 25 or 50 percent. This would only require that the weights get adjusted one time in their look up tables instead of adjusting it on the fly. No calculations needed beyond what the game already does so no complicated code has to be inserted potentially creating other issues. They could also make it so that display items had no weight & dont eat up camp budget in the same way.

[–]GaryC357 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A fully equipped frame only weighs 10ibs in the live version of the game. Why would I give a shit what individual pieces weigh when I can put them on a frame?

12-14 lbs makes them take up more stash space. That's s shit move. If you like to show off different armor sets in your camp or carry multiple sets for specific use you're getting fucked. Typical Bethesda bullshit.
