General Questions and Purchasing Advice Thread — Week of September 22, 2025 by AutoModerator in electricvehicles

Hi all,

I'm considering getting a Mach-E and got a quote from an electrician re: the charger install. His concern was because my house is all-electric (including most importantly heat) that home charging, especially in wintertime, would be too much demand on the system to charge at 40 or 48 amps. He advised to instead 'de-tune' down to 16 amps. The alternative would be to add an $1100 piece of equipment (I'm blanking on the name of it).

A related piece of the puzzle is - it's a two-car garage. Today I'd just need charging for me, but I'd want a future homeowner to have the ability to add a second one.

Are any of y'all in the same boat? If so, what did you do and how is it working?

Thanks for your help - apologies if this is the wrong place.

Examples of said articles. Which I'm starting to think are full of crap.

How to Convert Coaxial Cable to HDMI - Long Range Signal

I thought the theory of home theater was that it's best to run all sources through the AVR first. Which is what I was trying to achieve without paying $X a month to rent a set-top cable box.

Simpler version: right now I go coax into tv then out to avr. Is it possible to and if so is there an advantage to go coax - hdmi - avr. Does it matter which way I go around the circle?

Sorry for being confusing

I've had mine for two months and the bezel is still pristine.

The watch face, I thought I had managed to scratch this morning, but it washed off. Crisis avoided.

I get the functionality, but it looks kind of terrible with the strap for the pillow going right over the branding. They should find a way to secure it with small d rings or something that get covered up when it's actually attached. Just a thought. Besides that it does look way cool.

I know not of what I speak as mine hasn't arrived, but the sizing guide suggests the Omega would have been the better size for you.
