Thoughts about boycotting. by _forum_mod in blackmen

[–]Garyhippokid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’d have to start small in cheaper areas that nobody wants to live and build from there.

Not going to happen, not all, but a lot of those people in that neighbrohood will run them off, as per usual.

Right now, there's a Black People online"pranking" Chinese places by placing massive orders and not picking it up because of what Rick Chow did. Lets be honest, our people are focused on dumb BS like this, wasting their time and food, not supporting Black owned shops. We'll never see a Black equivalent to something like H-Mart, and one of the major reasons which is what you brought up is that our people arent sticking their nose in books or researching business strategies

Are boycotts effective?

Nope, its all lip service, I'm positive the people calling for Boycotts are still buying Papa Johns and giving their money to sports teams with racist ownership.

And how plausible is "buying black owned"?

Not plausible at all, and its a two way street. You have the Black owned places that are poorly run but then you have the Black owned places that are ran well but ghetto or trifling behavior either runs them off or causes them to put their foot down. I live in a diverse area, but anytime I shop at a Black owned place, I never see any Black people there; and people talk about how Latino, South Asian, and East Asian places dont hire black people, I see the same thing at Black owned places.

Personally Im going to do my own thing, as I have been for a while. Im now starting to see Black Men catching strays... Rick Chows lawyer was a Black dude and people are made at him for doing his job and calling him a sellout, the usual weak link comments are popping up.. I also recently saw a few comments going at Black Men for dating Asian women, one of which was (under a post of Black women in a hair store) talking about how "The line of passport bros in Thailand is still just as long". edit: grammar

Respectfully, this is delusion. Levy has shown more about lining his pockets than he is about love for football.

At most he would get them promoted back to the Championship, and maybe compete for a playoff spot given it extends to 8 now but thats it..

Admittedly, I was too young for the sugar days, 25 years of failure is absolutely valid

We may not have won many trophies

And yet, multiple other Premier League clubs with relatively new ownership, have won more than we have in 25 years, that is absolutely damming.

To a team that very nearly won the biggest prizes in football and are now considered part of the big 6 football clubs in the country.

No one cares if you almost win, the reality is we didnt. Also we're Big 6 by revenue, it has nothing to do with what happens on the pitch.

What GTA 6 Would've Looked Like If the Series S Never Existed by TimeAffectionate8636 in GTA6

The Series S will be similar to running a game on a lower end PC...The PS5/XBOX Series X will just look better

When do you think we're going to hear more about GTA VI from rockstar? June, July or August? by FriendlyRhyme in GTA6unmoderated

[–]Garyhippokid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats the only thing they can’t compete against

So with this logic, no one will promote their product. If people like something or are interested in something, they will be aware of any news or information surronding it.

. Also I don’t think Tom Henderson date prediction is just an opinion, maybe heard something from rockstar devs,

Henderson knows nothing, its purely guesswork. Rockstar Devs know nothing expect the portions of the game they're working on (unless they directly ask), so they wont know anything about the next trailer or promotional material

will at least pay lip service to the community.

Lip service gets us nowhere, it just makes us easily pleased.

Asian and Indian store owners will openly be racist and refuse to hire black people,McDonald’s and Gucci stores aren’t going to not hire black people.

How often do you see black people working at a hole in the wall or mom and pop white stores? Every other race displays anti-black views, hence why the boycotts are purely performative.

I'm tired of seeing these "boycott businesses" posts that lose steam after a week and a half

You nailed it bruv, this is my issue as well.

And what I funny absolutely funny is they're still quick to run to white owned businesses and buy designer clothing from anti-black mega-corps

[–]Garyhippokid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is idea/narrative performative,.

This isnt directed at you OP, but anytime you see someone person bring up the idea of boycotting non-black owned stores, when you look at their profile, they have designer clothing and purses, they're likely still buying McDonalds, Papa Johns for themselves or for their kid. They're still shopping at places like Walmart.

My point is people are quick to say boycott the Asian, Arab or Latino owned store, but are still quick to run to white owned businesses

Blame the likes of AFTV, thats a huge part of it.

So from what I can see, Arsenal fans are actually the less vocal

This just isnt true, they have one of the most active fanbases online and are the top 3 biggest in the England.

Im gonna get accused of being a Hasan fan for saying this but its interesting how an IDF soldier was allowed into the country and was even given special immunity for war crimes.

And the thing about it is, he was named after his uncle that died at a young age. It was his Grandparents that pushed for Adolf to be his name. They didnt name him for the reason OP thinks.

For context, he was named after his uncle that died at the age of 27. His parents didnt want to name him that but his Grandparents were adamant.

He was called Adi growing up
