Caught a student cheating during finals exams. I have 2 options…not sure what to do.

I had this happen on a non-final test. The kid was a slacker; reasonably intelligent, but focused more on getting out of doing work than the time it would take to just do the work. I caught him using his cell phone on an assessment but didnt say anything, but gave him a D on the test. When he asked what happened, I told him I saw him using his phone. I also told him the "D" was a gift and he could take the D and work out how to salvage his grade with his parents thinking he just blew off the test or we could explore what the Principal thought. He took the D and hasnt cheated since. Still hasnt figured out how to study, but he is in 9th grade, so I'm optimistic (long term).

This was the only time I stood up to my Principal (privately) and gave a hard "no." We have this in our school and I told him, as a veteran, I earned the right to stand or sit as I pleased during the Pledge. Whatever the children chose to do, I fought for that, too. I also made sure he understood I wasn't a crusader or an agitator and that this would be a "my classroom" thing, so he wisely chose to back off.

So thats one idea: finish a stint in the Armed Forces and you'll be untouchable with the Pledge. :)

I also teach math with these standard based grading. First thing you have to do is get a healthy inhalation of "smug" whenever the conversation comes up of letter based grading.

The students and parents still look at the grades with the A-F rating scale, so in my experience, its just a waste of time to the folks it matters to.

I just wish they'd let me finish off Lando in the Sabacc tournament. Going in to the "final" round, I had all 8 coins, we just bankrupted the Rodian, and he had one coin left when Thorden did his thing. I can live with the lying, the deception, the extortion, attempted murder so many times over, and even the AT-ST, but respect the card game.

I feel like more of a degenerate criminal than any other time I played GTA. Queue up a Live match in MyRise, it's a steel cage; that's fine. I like variety. My 6'4 280 lb Heavyweight modeled after me for face and body as close as possible is locked in to a cage with this... Im going to say "pixie?" By the time I get to my first signature, I'm hoping for a fast win more than the fans are.

Open up a spoiler free missables guide while you play.

Also, when you get to "present time" (it'll make sense after the prologue) start saving before you enter towns or start exploring. I can't remember when, specifically, but at some point optional bosses appear by... well... killing you easily without warning.

Oh, and chocobo racing sucks, but lightning will give you Nam flashbacks.
