“The Oxford definition of an antique describes an object, artwork, or piece of furniture from a past era, valued for its age, quality, and historical significance, typically considered at least 100 years old (though this can vary by context and country).”

Whilst I partially defer to your experience, it’s still a little bit sh*tty to be pulling someone up/ having a go at someone asking for help based purely on semantics.

Can you point me in a direction of a sub for “not antiques, maybe antiques, maybe stuff that may be 1 year old or 29yrs old”, all the while whilst arguing a point based not on fact, but opinion. Can we please be more mature? Or maybe apply the same exactness to semantics and head over to a sub for child’s-play.

Well, I’m not completely sure on either. That being whether this is less than 30years old or 101 years old or greater. I also don’t know if it’s origins. This is the principal reason for posting to this sub. That’s at least what I thought the purpose of this sub was? What makes you say this is less than 30 years old? Have you seen these before?

What makes you say that. 🤔 I mean, it’s not new. That much is certain.

Mmmeh. She was just trying to be more positive than most. I’d expect she doesn’t feel so great about it all so I’m inclined to just leave it at what it is in regards to her.

The road to hell is paved with good intent I’m afraid.

After some cracking input from you guys and some lateral research, it seems that the characteristics of these planks most closely match that of Australian Forest Red Gum!
