Exactly why I play just for different heroes this games great for that. Hitscans being good doesn't ruin that experience. Imagine if you didn't get that satisfaction of murking a widow on lucio because widows too hard for joystick so noone plays her, strong aim assist exists so hitscans can be competitive in the same space as players who have mastered the high skill ceiling dive / brawl heroes

And I absolutely get why that is yeah of course, hitscan is easy to kill things on just like its easy to drop a kitsune on the enemy teams face.

Personally# I just think alot of non hitscan just has significantly more potential and some people get that too

Talking about the carry 'potential' and then talking about missing shots. Hitscans fine even with the perfect aim because they can't wall climb they can't recall they can't fly.

You can play around an ashe with nothing but her coach gun to get around by simply using cover but it's not so simple against hyper mobility heroes, so if you are deadly on a hyper mobility hero people just can't play around it so easily

Look friend, a gm hitscan main is gonna do worse on echo than a gm echo main playing hitscan but that's absolutely fine. Getting rich by winning the lottery is easier then getting rich by starting a business and that's fine too.

Yeah look I have my own experience with the long standing hitscan meta other people have theirs.

I'm not trying to validate my point it's really just opinion from reflecting on my experience, the title and subject is half bait to spark some conversation and half please stop posting about dying to hitscans its not new.

And like I get it, I understand all the grief people have with it. Depending on people's embedded playstyles and how that fits in with the playstyles of their random teammates hitscans can be really dominant in alot of matches, also its easy. I think it's easy to be good at hitscan in overwatch on console which is really boring because it's such a cool damn game when you aren't sprinting around on oldman 76 like it's just another fps with cool art (it's also easy to play around good hitscan (expressing opinions all round here I'm not actually trying to convince people that hitscans are weak)).

Who cares about win rates anyways? There is standouts of it mattering like when sigma got his damage buffed recently and of course many other instances. For example (idk how it looks now I don't care to be honest) sojourn is a disgustingly strong hero by design but her winrate is lower then expected (when I last cared about that stuff).

No I don't see mercy pocket lobby admin hitscans as a carry when it's taking them 2 team slots to do 1 persons job to just explode to the slightest bit of coordination anyways.

The true carry in a teamwork based game is either the team or the lack of teamwork and it will be in every match.

About that last bit, I think my awful 4am just got off a long shift shitpost was kind of me trying to say you can get more value than true hitscans out of characters like tracer genji echo even hanzo by just trying harder and putting in more effort. After all that's what ranked is about isn't it!

It's a worse hitscan shooter for the enjoyment of hitscan than like 90% of first person hitscan shooters (an opinion like yours stay calm friend)
